Illuminated Keyboard -- worthwhile for a gamer?

You shouldn't be looking at a keyboard, a glowing one is a distraction and another unnecessary light source in a room that you probably don't want to have to turn off your kb each night. Focus on getting a kb that has good response time as that is really the only thing that matters.

I've been using my Saitek Cyborg keyboard for almost a year now and couldn't go back to a non-illuminated one. Mostly because I'm usually playing late at night when my gf is trying to sleep behind me, so the lights are off.

to all the people saying you shouldn't need to look at your keyboard... in mmo's you usually bind just about every key on your keyboard. so being able to see specific keys that are out of the usually home row (asdf) reach is a nice bonus when you're gaming in low light conditions.


also... photoshop in the dark.

I have a G15 and liked the lighting at first, but usually don't notice it anymore even in a pitch dark room. However, the keyboard's other features make it well worth it to me.

Gotta love the elitism in here. Yeah I use a lighted keyboard, and I would also put my typing skills up against any of yours. Has nothing to do with it, and until you've tried one you ought to refrain from making ignorant comments.

OP, Umm, take flat screwdriver, pop out CTRL key, wipe under the key with alcohol or water soaked Q tip, and push the CTRL button back on top. Done!
