Yeah, I was looking at the FY 2009 numbers. Looks pretty bad for pretty much all states this year and next.

I wonder why you even bothered posting TX numbers, are you a TX hater?

Other than Mack Brown ... No

Just a Red State, soon to be home of the Shrub Library (insert your own joke, here -------->>> __________ )

laid off probably. THe 7% raise is probably why he jumped with 4 points, he was at 7 behind. This is really a blagodouche deal, but as

that fact that D governor is polling behind a R in IL was unthinkable 8 years ago thanks to that crook jagoff George Ryan

too bad the D's in chicago are far worse of crooks.

I am not a huge fan of Bill Brady. I find his view on abortion stupid, his anti gay rhetoric idiotic. I cant decide if he beleives it or is pandering to the religious right for votes like most R's do.

Hes pretty gov't be more hands off on lots of personal issues, and some people HATE THAT.

EDIT:

hes sort of a right wing wacko acutally, hes pro intelligent design

Hes pro CCW, and my firm belief that his other views are far enough out there that it makes him harmless in those respects means I might think about voting for him.

CCW is basically a guarentee if he gets into office.......

Oh good god. I really want CCW, but do I want it bad enough to vote for pro intelligent design. Ugh.

But our retard Governor can still find a way to give hefty raises to his staff.

Unreal.

Whats even more unreal is this clown is only polling 4 points behind his Republican opponent. If Quinn somehow wins re-election I have lost all hope in this shitty state. So many blind (D) followers here, especially in Chicago, Quinn could do just about everything in his power to fuck this state over(he seems to be trying) and he still has a chance to be re-elected.

Illinois is incredibly corrupt and incredibly screwed up financially, it's the leading edge of the stealth progressive wave to fundamentally transform our nation into a government-controlled progressive socialist utopia. But - there's probably a lot of people thinking: Elect a Dem, everything just gets worse, but maybe Obama will provide a big ass bailout courtesy of the other forty-nine. Elect a Pubbie and things MIGHT be less corrupt and less screwed financially, but no bailout. And things MIGHT NOT be less corrupt and less screwed financially, but the bailout will definitely be off the table if Illinois does something so foolish as to throw out its entitled overlords. Maybe better the devil you know (with big devil friends who can take money from others, at gunpoint if needed, and give it to you) than the devil you don't know.

I’ll give you this, I lived in Rogers Park from 1976 to 1979. I was pretty much forced by economic necessity to live there. There was no way I was going to vote for the Daley democratic machine after what happened during the 68 Democratic Convention. So I voted for Repubs down the line (holding my nose).
Illinois and Chicago politics is a cesspool and the populace deserves it. I don’t know how many arguments I had with the local crackers (lot’s of them in Chicago) and they thought is was just niffty.
What was really funny is when senior croaked, all the sudden all the hidden deals fell apart and the dairy that supplied milk to the schools said it had not been paid in 6 months. All kinds of other businesses came out of the woodwork with the same story.

A guy actually tried to justify the petty coruption and patronidge in Chitown politics by saying that at least the graft was more democratic cause it got down to the little guy.

As for the Chicago based government controlled socialist agrenda conspiracy crap, you lost me there. Was that a talking point from one of your favorite blogs?

Nope, just an observation of the politics and politicians that Illinois has and exports.

And largely the only way to vote for Republicans is while holding your nose. Still usually makes them the lesser evil, although they certainly give it the old college try.

I don't understand Dave. Good, bad, right, wrong, foolish or wise, none of it matters as long as the republicans don't like it?

He is funny isnt he?

Hey Dave, you would piss off Republicans by killing yourself.

Honest mistake. Crucify me for it.

:awe:

You will be crucified... because a simple typo is WAY more important than the State of Illinois giving state employees raises while facing $13 billion deficit... we can't discuss that (especially when that is obama territory).

Since all of southern Illinois is stuck with whatever the people in Chicago vote for, let Chicago pay the debt.

I'm not sure why SI hasn't decided to withdraw from IL and join MO/IN as they are much more aligned with either St. Louis or Indianapolis. Would make perfect sense.

Still leaves central IL folks F'd though... :(

Basically, if Chicago and Crook County could just become it's own state and be left to meltdown on its own, the rest of the state would be far better off.

If Cook county was its own state that place would meltdown so fast...the rest of the state has to support all the lowlife trash there.

We'll trade -- we'll take southern Illinois and Chicago can have Gary. :D

I would vote for Indiana, if I had the right to vote.

IL is so f'd up. My univ stopped funding more than 50% of the students recently, atleast in my dept, and if things don't improve, they are planning to impose furloughs on faculty and staff.
