Illinois bans malt liquor from videogames

Link - Seems the curroptocrats...errr, politicians of the fine state of Illinois are apparently trying to bring the good ole days of prohibition to...videogames. In a spate of anti-alcohol laws that started with the new year, malt liquor is banned from videogames.

In addition, alcopop beverages [malt liquor] can?t be displayed in any video game, theater or live performance where the audience is primarily made up of children.

First the came for my videogame fourty...and I said nothing.

So what games exactly would be affected by this? Saints Row? GTA? Could I make some malt liquor in Little Big Planet? Maybe I could make a big malt liquor vehicle in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Does it really f'ng matter?

Since it can't be displayed in games primarly made up of children, does that mean it's still OK for 'T' and 'M' rated games?

Depends on what the political definition of children is in this case. T games are supposed to be for teens which could be defined as children. And the case has been made before that M rated games are targeted towards children.

It says "flavored" malt beverages (like Smirnoff Ice). Saints Row has malt liquor, but not flavored malt liquor.

And if I'm reading this correctly: http://www.ilga.gov/legislatio...text.asp?Name=095-0860
It already was illegal; the underlined sections are the new stuff that was added to the existing law by the new bill that was passed.

Essentially the changes to the law were
- They added malt beverage with added stimulants to the definition of alcopop
- They added labeling requirements to malt beverages with added stimulants

How many tax-billed hours were spent paying the borderline retarded people in charge of making this "law"?

Political Correctness will be the end of our country I swear to god

So what are criminals going to do now to quench their thirst after holding up a bank, executing some cops, carjacking an old lady, or using a chainsaw to hack protestors into bits?

I'm glad we have our priorities in the right order and have saved our children from this terrible blight on society.

At least with this law in place, we know we are safe from ressurected zombie homies since we can't pour one out and revive them.
