The immigration of old was entirely different. They worked with equal rights, equal taxes. Now we've got millions pouring in taking jobs for a fraction of the cost that Americans could realistically be paid, and they don't pay taxes. They use government property. They're taking jobs, consuming tax dollars, and not integrating into our society.

And many of them send their money back to their families in Mexico.

This is nothing like legal immigration.

first of all its not only mexico, its many countries. second of all, legal or not illegal, people still send money to their families because their family needs it.

All I think this story shows is how poor our immigration control is.

I'm not generalizing groups of people as murders and rapists.

You're right, immigration control is a joke, but we shouldn't condemn all illegals when a crime like this is commided you have to look at all the other factors like his obvious alcohol abuse, which is a universal problem

you do realize NOBODY here is a real american, except for Native Americans, we all immigrated from some where, this country was built on immigration and it will be sustained through immigration.

no im not dropping the "attitude" this topic/subject pisses me off and i will voice my opinion on it. I am not alone in my stance on the immigration problem ask around dude and see what your friends, family neighbors think about it.

No I wouldn't work minimum wage.

However, I'd want other Americans to have that right. And it doesn't have to be minimum wage. Americans that did yard work may have done it for 8-10/hr. In certain areas of the country, illegals are willing to work for less.

It's not like all illegals get paid minimum wage. A lot get less. Minimum wage really only applies to legal work, that's taxable.

Well of course you went to college, but how about them? they have no opportunities whatsoever to get a decent education like you did. they do those jobs because theyre in need, and youre not thats why you wouldnt do it. do you think theyd be doing it if they went to college and all that? no one would. they dont have the resources to get a better education.

Yes it is unfortunate that they do not have the opportunities that we do. However, it is my belief that we should work to better America and it's citizens first, before we try to tackle the world.
