A multi-storey building in India has collapsed because giant advertising billboards fixed to the roof destabilised the structure, leaving it susceptible to the slightest gust of wind.

The 35-year-old building in Surat, in the western Indian state of Gujarat, started to tilt two days ago and was finally blown over by winds of just 10 miles per hour.

Officials wisely evacuated the building before its final collapse yesterday to avoid any casualties.

"officials" 😛 😉

aka, the building's owner and tenants wouldn't go back in? or maybe the cops just wanted to make the news again and hope to show up on TV?
