True, but the campaigns weren't very long.

knack was fairly long, like 10-11 hours or so. ryse was short but was as epic a game as there is out there. and max is just a fun platformer/puzzle game that is like 5-6 hours. but it's only $15.

but i'd agree there aren't any truly epic long single player games out now. but that isn't what i'd expect at launch anyways. hasn't been one since mario 64 🙁.

You spent $420 on games and have played them all already? Somebody has way too much time and money on their hands.

The first year is always slow for new consoles. This is because the development cycle for bigger studio revolves around a November launch window. Most big AAA titles will come out ahead of the holidays. Spring (Q2) is the mid-season launch window. We're due for InFamous: Second Son, Watch Dogs, MLB 2014, and MGS: Ground Zero. Things will pick up my November 2014 and into 2015 for the PS4 since sales have been the strongest out of the three 8th gen systems.

I did the buy 2 get 1 free deal at Target and bought Rivals for $50 at Walmart the following week.

still waiting for the must have game for the PS4 then maybe I will get it.
Passing on the XBone this time, I kind of want to punish them for trying to push all that drm crap (later reversed), no resale of used games, ect.

However with my back log of steam games may not get a console for a year.

Peace

It's expected that the first year of a new console's life can have droughts here or there. Which is why some of the Wii U discussions, claiming there were "no games" from earlier in 2013 seemed pretty petty. Of course not, it's a new system....

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, seems to be releasing right in the biggest pocket of "nothingness", so it'll be interesting to see how it performs. I actually hope it does really well, since I thought the Tomb Raider reboot was pretty great, and the game deserves to do well... and because it will encourage developers to do other such inexpensive remakes of some PS3/Xbox360 games, to help file in some of that early lack of content.

Meanwhile, the PS3 and Xbox360 still will be useful this year. For example... I never played Final Fantasy X, since back when it released all I had an Xbox and a Gamecube, but was too poor to buy a PS2. Oh, how I was deprived as a youth, it really was quite sad...

Dunno what to tell you. I love KZ:SF's multiplayer (SP campaign, pretty but meh), and in theory it or another good MP game could tide me over for a while. Unfortunately, I can't seem to play many games these days without getting motion sickness or headaches, so that sort of dampens things...

And there's still no 3rd party games on the WiiU

And there's still no 3rd party games on the WiiU

Batman Arkham City, Batman Arkham Origins, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Injustice, Need for Speed, Resident Evil Revelations, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Call of Duty Ghosts, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, Sonic Lost World, Mass Effect 3, Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut, Rayman Legends, Wonderful 101

Can this myth die already.

Ive been meaning to pick up knack but have not yet. Played the first sp mission in bf4, still going through AC, and playing online in bf4. Starting to get bored right about now too.

It's going to continue to be a struggle. Dev support just isn't there relative to the other four consoles and it never will be.

And they either have no multi-player or are missing other features like DLC, maps, etc. Even though the game is on there, it's not the same game you can buy on other systems which is a big problem when you're trying to get more people to buy it. Plus there are many other game publishers/developers that have already said they are not releasing games on the WiiU. The 3rd party problem is only getting worse for them.

Take the Wii U comments to the Wii U threads.
Keep the thread PS4 related please.

just read that Tomb Raider coming to PS4. glad i skipped it on ps3, going to get it when it comes out

yeah its coming to ps4 and x1 at the end of this month. i played through it on 360 and it's one of the best games last gen. i rented it from redbox and beat it in like 4 days, but i might pick it up to play it again, and i had wanted to collect everything too.

I already have it for pc and finished it. Unless it is something different I would not get it again on ps4.

Yeah my copy was free with my gpu. Otherwise I would be buying it this month. It's an excellent game, story wise and pretty much the gameplay too is a lot of fun and excitement. We Need more games like this.

I redboxed it, too. My main hesitation in getting it again is the knowledge that never in my decades of gaming have I ever finished a game twice (at least any with an appreciable campaign to it). So I doubt I would with this, either.

Knack has some down sides. It can get pretty frustrating at points and by the time he's huge to just dominate everyone either the level ends or you're forced to give up some of his relics.

I really enjoyed it though, and it definitely didn't deserve the low scores it got.

Yeah too bad they didn't have a downloadable demo to try it out. It looks fun but also looks quite repetitive.
