Tomb raider? Whatever, sold.
Infamous? Whatever, I'll buy it.

Just sick of this new gen slow release cycle.

Sick of it? Every new system takes time to get games. It's barely been out. I have four PS4 games and I have too much to play and inFamous doesn't come out until March anyways.

This right here folks.

This is why I got games like Forza, Killer Instinct, NBA 2k14 where they never end.

This is why I haven't bought either new console yet.

I still have plenty of PS2, PS3, X360 and PC games to play first.

By next xmas the X1 and PS4 will be cheaper, launch titles will be $20-30, there will be a new crop of games, and the bugs will be worked out of the OSs.

There's no way they are dropping in price in only a year. Both are selling just fine and aren't overpriced.

They will have some of retailer deals for black friday/holiday season.

And yes OP, that is why most people haven't bought them yet.

This exactly.

I doubt there will be much (if any) of a price drop by then, but at least there will be a handful of decent games (hopefully).

Thoroughly glad I waited.

Yes, probably not a price drop exactly. I was thinking of a holiday bundle where you get 1-2 of the current $60 titles included as discs or download codes, and/or PSN+ or XBL free for 3+ months and/or some indie game codes.

So a bundle deal, plus current launch titles discounted, plus new titles. That's a better deal than buying now.

The only place that will have a price drop will be costco or Sam's club because they know they'll get you to buy something else while your in there and it might be $20-$30 off whoopty do.

I'm glad I got my Xbox one. I'm playing nba2k14, dead rising 3 and call of duty ghosts online with my friends. I'm not pressed for games at all and any real gamer knows when a system launches their isn't a huge selection and you need to have at least a few online games to play to really get your moneys worth at launch.

Early adopters always have a dearth of new titles. It's the way the console cycle works. You pay megabucks up front for the hardware and then have a very slim selection of games for a good six months. But hey, you got in first, right?

I keed, I keed. Though I did learn my lesson after getting my 360 on Day One. Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero anyone?

On release I bought:

Cod Ghosts
Knack
Killzone
Rivals
BF4
AC4
NBA 2K14

I would only open a game or so each week. I've finished most of them and finally opened NBA 2K14 this weekend. I just need something new.

You spent $420 on games and have played them all already? Somebody has way too much time and money on their hands.

The first year is always slow for new consoles. This is because the development cycle for bigger studio revolves around a November launch window. Most big AAA titles will come out ahead of the holidays. Spring (Q2) is the mid-season launch window. We're due for InFamous: Second Son, Watch Dogs, MLB 2014, and MGS: Ground Zero. Things will pick up my November 2014 and into 2015 for the PS4 since sales have been the strongest out of the three 8th gen systems.

Wow

I have Killzone, Assassin's Creed, Need for Speed, and Battlefield 4 and 99% of my game time is spent playing BF4. All my other games are just collecting dust.

One of the main problems with both consoles launch line up is we don't have any epic single player games. The kind with really long campaigns. Hopefully those start rolling in soon.

You're going through a game a week, even PS360 consoles would have a rough time keeping up with that probably lol

That has been a lingering problem that has nothing to do with new consoles.

Yea the only thing we have is Assassin's Creed which is multiplatform. The pirate parts are great but still hate the assassin part.

I'll wait until Thief 4 comes out at least. I don't suspect to see much of a good library outside of a few here n there until next year.
I do kinda hope Rockstar decides to release a GTA5 for it when they do the PC version but I'm not holding my breath.

I disagree, but we won't see eye to eye so no sense in carrying it on.

Yeah, that is my problem. I rented it for the 360 to give it a shot and thought the naval combat sections were really fun, but didn't enjoy the follow this person or listen to that conversation quests, so I decided to skip it. Games like The Witcher can't get here soon enough for me.

ryse and knack are both great games that had enjoyable single player experiences. max curse of brotherhood is also tons of fun.
