nope,it's called using the internet to your family's benefit. While you guys neffed for the last 2 hours I entered several hundred contests.

Congrats on your sweepstake winnings, but there's no need to talk down to the rest of ATOT.

I think you speak from inexperience on entering these kinds of things...many are sort of fun.

Hope you aren't hedging your time on something like WoW or Halo, those games are a lot of work too.

No, I dont mmorpg but I do play games, the whole point of my post was denoting that it was fun for her but probably not for me...then you go and try to turn it around on me but in reality you just reinforce the point I was just making????

Exactly, your post was hostile in nature not just saying...'hey that sounds good, but I don't think it'd work for me.'

There is a difference and obviously you didn't like it either.

a game is defined as "An activity providing entertainment or amusement; a pastime: party games; word games. " basically saying, games are for fun.

a sweepstakes/contest is more broadly defined but mostly consists of competing for winnings or buying a stake to possibly win a larger stake. Your argument just doesnt really hold base, games to the vast majority of people are for fun whereas filling out sweepstakes forms for a vast majority of people would be deemed as some sort of work...so sorry?

dear god, you must be painful to talk to.

Just for the record, someone's game is another's job sometimes. Think about that and you hopefully will understand.

I do understand, yes, someones game is anothers job /sometimes/, I just didnt see how your argument held up as a general sentiment it was more an exception to the rule than the rule itself. Ah, dont worry, in a standard conversation I am much more normal but this is the internet where semantics are born and bred and argued until the end of time.

Don't you get a bunch of junk mail? (snail mail) I would guess you have to give out your address to some of these contests.

I'm sure that my wife has bumped into you on some of the sites that you use Geekbabe. Some of the things off the top of my head that she has won:

Spa trip to Ojai Valley Resort in Santa Barbara
Cruise for 3 to the Bahamas
Many, many gift cards ranging from $5 - $1000
Couple different HP photo printers

Edit: Junk mail isn't a problem (she has about 2 dozen gmail accounts) and not too much comes snail mail and what does come usually will reference other contests or discounts (% off).

I hate the be the syntax Nazi here (if that's what one would be called for noticing this infraction).. but I would say you simply reached a milestone and did not brake a record, unless there was someone before you who had the record for most sweepstakes entered at 9,999 and decided to retire at that mark, but that seems unrealistic. Alternatively, you would be breaking your personal entry record here, however that would happen each time you enter the next sweepstakes and would be nothing to brag about.

Yeah, can you tell I'm jealous and annoyed that you keep winning these things? Maybe I don't hate to be the syntax Nazi in this instance after all. 😛

Yeah yeah.. I would like to point out that I did type 'breaking' later on in the post so I know when to use which word, just had a brain fart there apparently.

That's profound. Its like the retarded step-brother to "Someone's trash is another's treasure".
