Well, today I downgraded my DSL from 1.5 to 512. I couldn't find any reason to keep paying the extra money a month just for having a burst in bandwidth that I use like a couple times a month. For regular web browsing and downloading small files I feel it is fine. I guess the only thing the faster connections are really worth are for bragging rights. I can get that same 100MB file that you can, it just might take a little longer. Maybe when streaming video has become more mainstream and useful I'll go back up.

This is the bottom though... no way I'm going back to 56k! 🙂
 
I've had cable for about 4 years now. It's the fastest affordable connection you can get around here, and it's the same price as slower DSL. And besides, it's really cheap. $30 canadian a month
