Problem with most IKEA stuff is that it's made of particle board, and those things don't generally survive moving well once you've assembled them.

when I think of IKEA I think of that opening sequence in Fight Club. Makes me smile. I love Ikea, I have a ton of their furniture. The lower priced stuff made of partical board I call 1 use furniture. If you put it together and then try moving it to a different home it will break. The more expensive stuff is reusable.

The cheap stuff may be one use but it is cheap and good for that one use.

Ikea hosed me bad once.

I bought a $2000 worth of kitchen cabinets that one of their sales people configured for me using the dimensions I gave her.

After I picked up the special order and my contractors assembled everything, they realized it was completely wrong.

Ikea refused to take it back because it was already assembled and a special order. I ended up eating $2K because of their damn mistake.

crap-kea stuff is exclusively for students (with gaudy cheesy flower-power taste)

I'd check Walmart & Target, if I was that desperate -> no hassle return
