I'll be upgrading town 6's residence to 6 today and will finally be able to plant a new town tomorrow when that's done.
 
Leave the population on gold when you have high corruption like that, towns are kind of useless until you can get it below ~20%. Just wait until you have to do 7 GR updates to get it to 0. 😉
 
lol, that sucks.

I was hitting an inactive on my wine island but kept losing against the lvl 10 wall...need my workshop 🙂

When I drop a new town with high corruption I fight through the corruption with a high level tavern and slowly upgrade the GR. You can get the town to grow w/o getting them fully upgraded.

Once the town is growing I try to build up arch/carpenter to soften the blow of the GR updates on the new city. Lvl 7 is like 1 day 6 hours by itself, total it's around 97 hours.

If you can't punch a hole in the wall in 1 turn you are multiplying your losses for each round. Build more siege weapons or don't attacko, imo.

When I pillage inactives I send 7 hops, x mortars (where X is enough to kill the wall in 1 turn), this maximizes space on your ships. Troops take space otherwise used for loot, so you want to sent the smallest force possible. High end walls will only kill a few hops leaving at least 1 to pillage once the wall is breached. If it went 2 rounds, I'd lose. You can substitute hops for steam giants vs certain level walls and it's more effective.

edit: speaking of workshops, upgrade your siege weapons attack and your hops defenses first for the reasons listed above. You want to breach asap while losing as few hops as possible.

yeah, i'm not a fan of undefended walls kicking my ass. I miss the old days when you still needed at least somebody to man the defenses.
 
Just started. Looks like I'm on a Vine island (38:55) with amish, sdifox and a couple of Phoenix86's towns. I sent a friend request to Phoenix86.

Warehouse can hold up to ~23k if anyone can send some care package help. Thanks. 🙂

Just accepted the friend request. sorry no resources as of now. just started my third town on the cheap. will send some once I get some resources.

Just let me handle the care packs, no sense in you sending to him just to have me send to you later. 😉

edit: I'm also trying to keep one friend slot open for you guys so make sure to friend me. When your friends learn a new tech you get a small %, and when they land a new town you get some gold.

i've been saving up for a palace upgrade but I can share the wealth. message me in game with what you have room for and I'll send stuff to you late tonight.

haha...just saving you some boats! 😛 Wasn't sure if you were online, so I just sent 1K -.5K just to keep him going.

Thanks for the Care Packages. I took the Warehouse to level 4 first. Should be plenty of room atm (30k per resource).

yeah, i just dropped my 4 colony and have a max level 2 GR. 83% at the new town and 53% at the established ones... Phoenix has fueled rapid growth, but I have been neglecting the governor's residences... Still, I have one of each type of town and two marble ones, so I am moving in the right direction...
