Can anyone tell me how to set up headers on iis 5.0. I need to host more than one website. I know this can be done with headers but I can't quite figure it out.

When you go in and assign the port and IP to each web site, you also have the option to enter the host header. Set that there and you should be done.

One note, if you have, say, two web sites on the same ip/port and one has host headers and one does not, the one that does not will get used if a) someone has a real old browser that doesn't support host headers or b) navigates by IP. Often people will put a default website here with links to the domains that normally use host headers.

Let me know if you can't find it, I'm running a handfull of sites at home with them so I'm pretty familiar with it.

Ok I'm using dns2go to host my our sites. I'm mew this but I'm assumong that I'm going to have to go to our dns2go site profile and add a host name under our current domain name at that pint then I can go back to iis and setup that host name that I added for example www.watts3000.com I then add www.watts3000.com in the header filed well I think this is somewhat right but I know you'll correct me if I'm wrong

Yep. I was using TZO for awhile, but it's pretty similar. TZO would let me automatically use anything before the name they assigned. So, if I registered mysite.tzo.com I could use photos.mysite.tzo.com, whatever.mysite.tzo.com, etc. It was these names (e.g. photos.mysite.tzo.com) that I would add to the host header field. Worked great.

Are you asking if there is a limit in IIS or in the dynamic dns? I don't know of any limits in either IIS or TZO (not sure about who you use).

IIS has no limit you'll ever have to worry about on a DSL or cable connection, you can easily host several hundred small sites. I have 11 on mine and my setup doesn't even break a sweat. I have 3 domains with dns2go, they don't seem to care...
