iis authentification

Is there a basic way that a iis site with basic authentification set to look at a cookie set on a user?s client instead of the cache on the client?s machine once the client has logged in. Is there a script within windows to force the server to look at the cookie so that way the user registers once and insn?t prompt everytime he enters onto the server or site to log in via the prompt box?

you can use cookie-less form auth using .NET. Look into httpformsauthentication.
