Sorry Bond Fans, but the new Bond Flick is lame.

I'm a huge bond fan, grew up on them. Quantum is just bad. It's lousy from start to finish. The chase scene's are garbage, the gadgets or lack there of is disappointing, and WTF no gambling scene...???

They tried to make the Craig Bond movies more "realistic" but yet in the first scene they unload about 200 rounds into his car and someone magically he never gets hit...LOL.

The Bond girl sucked too......

If you have $10 to blow, go see it.....

Otherwise, go buy a decent bond film starring Sean Connery on DVD.

Meh, I thought it was alright but found it funny...

[SPOILER ALERT]

... that the guy they are after at the start of the movie is still missing at the end. So really nothing of consequence happened.

I thought the action was awesome and it was worth it to go just for that.

How did they try to make it more realistic? I don't remember anything in the movie being realistic.

edit: and 2+ hours? It was 1 hour and 40 minutes.

ignore the op, quantum of solace wasn't quite the brilliant casino royal, but was still probably the third best bond movie since 1980.

Not even close. Quantum was a terrible movie. Exceptionally weak plot, poor dialogue, none of the James Bond essential elements and, to top it all off, shaky camera action scene garbage. Honestly, do directors really not realize how annoying that is?

and that you never hear a damn thing about him, much less suggested in passing, after the first 15 minutes.

Yeah it sucked. there's also an entire thread devoted to the shittiness of this flick. you'd know it if you searched. The thread title is relevant this time.

Until the idiots of the world realize that the Bourne Ultimatum sucks donkey dick...no.

I thought the movie was great. I excused the lack of gadgets because this is kinda where Bond is begining his career, so maybe gadgets aren't as integral to his mission

SPOILER>>

speaking of mission, keep in mind that he was working solo, so MI6 didn't really provide him with gadgets. As for the shaky camera effect. I didn't really notice it all.

SPOILER

This was the beginning, he still hasn't quite gotten the martinis down yet either, let alone gadgets. MI-6 actually cut Bond's supports in parts of the movie so you wouldn't expect to see any car ejection seats, or lasers. And the guy that he's supposed to find, found him at the end (and still alive, I found that funny), probably beaten to a pulp with the necklace wrapped around Bond's fist.

You didn't see any of the fight scenes? Like the scaffolding fight? You couldn't even tell who was who, doing what.

Weak ass movie. As other have said, no Bond dialogue, weak plot, horrible horrible shaky camera fight scenes. And a pretty lame ass final fight/ending scene.

QoS annoyed me way, way more than anything in the Bourne movies, and those did get pretty aggravating at times.

After Casino Royale, I wasn't expecting much from QoS. I enjoyed QoS more than CasRoy, but I still think it falls far below what Bond movies should be.

Don't bring Ultimatum into this, because it was awesome.

*edited out spoiler*

lmao, sounds like Casino Royal - a bunch of random crap with no story.

I agree, I am a huge Bond fan and my parents bought me up on the movies, I even have the VHS box sets, it's a shame the new one sucked so bad. Reposting this from my other locked thread...

No gadgets, not enough revolutionary action, not enough womanizing. They are seriously trying to make this movie way too serious and realistic in my opinion. What happened to the good old days of Roger Moore who was able to act like a total doofus sometimes and make you laugh, meanwhile having a laser cutter attached to his watch.

This bond had no gadgets at all, there was nothing special in use, the action was medicore, no crazy stunts or stuff that kept you strapped in your seat. Isen't Bond's car supposed to be bad ass, equipped with missles, metal spikes, oil, shields, etc?

The womanzing was bad, he diden't even bang the main girl? The whole plot was stupid, a player in a organization trying to obtain utility rights to a country? LOL oh no let's not compare that to Moonraker trying to NERVE gas the entire planet.

There are no memorable foes anymore, jaws etc, all the bad guys he defeats are just regular people. This new Bond installement felt more like a Jason Bourne episode than a true Bond film.

I don't know about anyone else, but that was just total crap, waste of money, should be stripped of the Bond badge.

And where the fuck is Q or R or whoever giving Bond his new gadgets and adding a fun element to the film?

I have said this exact thing in other Bond threads.

They went too far into cheesy-land with Brosnan's Bond with the gadgets and lame puns, now it seems like they're overcompensating and making Craig *too* serious.

I liked CR in general and and hoped this would be an improvement on that, but the story was just kinda meh. I hate hate hate the shaky camera and millisecond edits they do to fake a sense of urgency during the chase and fight scenes (especially the opening sequence). All it does is totally disorient you.

Brosnan's? You do realize there were Bond's with more gadgets in previous films?

Every movie after Goldeneye has been complete garbage. I can suspend belief for action, but I don't find this kind of garbage entertaining in the least.

I hate to say it, but I miss the "cool" Bond. Remember him? He could kill twenty people, and be drinking a Martini and hitting on some chick an hour later like nothing happened.

This new "Emo" Bond isn't doing anything for me, and neither is the lack of cool gadgets. This is a BOND film, dammit... I want to see some exploding wristwatches, pens with lasers in them, or a car with a jet pack ejector seat!

The older movies didn't rely on them as heavily or require you to suspend your belief of the laws of physics as much as in some of Brosnan's later crapfests.
