Interesting. Check out the top 10, look how many games were on a Nintendo system. Also, look at how many Final Fantasy/Square games there are.

I definitely think Doom should have been higher. Totally revolutionized gaming.

And how did they leave out Megaman???

Thanks for the link to the list (repost or not). I always love an updated top 100 games list. My favorite list back in the day was the Next-Generation magazine top 100 games of all time. That was an awesome issue. Anyone remember that?

Wow, just checked the list. I have sooooo many problems with that list (and I'm going to share them all with you whether to want to hear them or not )

First of all, Warcraft II at #88? WTF? Warcraft II was one of the most awesome games ever.

Also, why are all the more refined, improved versions of games not included? Virtua Fighter 4 is miles away better than Virtua Fighter 2. Tony Hawk 2 but not the incredible Tony Hawk 4? GTA 3, but not GTA: Vice City?

Final Fantasy II better than Final Fantasy III? FF3 actually one spot behind NBA Jam? I don't think so. No mention what so ever of Final Fantasy VII?!!!

Soul Cailber far and away deserves a higher spot than 38.

Half-Life at 32? Possibly the greatest PC game of all time at 32? Huh?

And, I'm sorry, nostalgia aside, there are many, many more worthy games for the top spot than Super Mario Bros. (yes, the original)

They couldn't make room for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker? How about a tiny franchise known as Quake?

Final Fantasy II better than Final Fantasy III? FF3 actually one spot behind NBA Jam? I don't think so. No mention what so ever of Final Fantasy VII?!!!

I put waaaay more hours into FFIII than II, however, I definitely enjoyed FFII more. It was much more groundbreaking, and stood out waaay more in its day. Hell, I was maybe 7 years old playing that game, and it totally enveloped my life lol, some of my friends and I would act out new story lines for the game and whatnot(which is perfectly ok for 7 year olds aiight??)

yeah, lotta problems with that list... first to mind is BF1942. fun game sure, but #41? hell no. "historical detail" errr, no, just saying that it's germans and allied doesn't make it 100% historically accurate... sigh. Counter-Strike has done more for online play than BS1942.

anyone that has played Ys Books 1 and 2 should know that this game defined CD RPGs. The story was miles ahead of anything in that time period, voice acting was the best... soo many memories but they ignored it because this 'gaming' mag probably hasn't played it

Rayman 2? errr how about no. Fun but nothing worth reccomending... especially on a top 100 list.

Poor Sonic, you only get #90...

I totally agree with Super Mario Bros.

PS. I'm still fuming over the avoidance of Y's Books I and II.

All these stupid lists do is piss people off with "This game should have been first..." or "Nintendo sucks...". Who cares what games are in the 100 best? I play what is fun, not what will be epical.

Eh that list is crap. CounterStrike is rated 83. It's the most online played game ever. But you have games like Super Smash Brothers making #36? While it's fun, it's definately not the 36th best game ever.
