Hello, I am from OT and I'm a registered republican :waves;

I am now making the only thread I will ever make in P&N

I can't believe how many people voting for bush simply don't know basic facts. I'm not talking about the stuff you hear in the commercials... I'm talking about facts about the greatest like the citizenry of the United States ever allowed to be perpertated against it.

Colin Powell went to the UN and lambasted the world for refusing to act when we had irrefutable intelligence stating that Sadam was a grave threat to American national security. When he spoke at graduation speeches this spring, he talked about how its important that future generations strive to do the right thing and implied that the nations current leadership does not. Bush not only had the gaul to joke around at the annual press dinner with a powerpoint (where he was looking around the oval office for WMD's) that they were having trouble finding them, now he has the gaul to change the reasons we went to war. I would have followed him anyhwere after 9/11, all he would have had to do was hand me a gun... I have been taken advantage of

Watch as he lets his bosses in the oil industry get away with bringing regular back up to 2.10 a gallon... watch as he implies that another american wouldn't do everything he can (within consitutional bounds) to keep our citizenry safe.... how fvcking absurd can you get!

SOME TAX DROP, MY TAKE HOME PAY WENT FROM 79% TO 74%... 100% OF THE INCREASE WAS FEDERAL

THE SHEEP THINK THAT THEIR TAXES WENT DOWN

THE SHEEP THINK HE WILL PROTECT US

YET THE SHEEP DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO COLIN POWELL OR PAUL ONEIL IS OR WHY THEY'RE IMPORTANT.

the sheep know nothing about bid-less halibutron contracts meant for small buisnesses. Half the sheep don't even understand that allowing anyone to buy into federal health insurance is NOT a blank check drawn on the government.... wtf do you think premiums are for?!?!

Whatever kind of damage even kerry's most liberal policies can do to this country in the next 4 years will not only be easily undone by the next rebublican administration, but will also save the United States from having its next 50 years of foreign policy shaped by Bush telling the world to F itself. Anyone who says "we're too good to compromise with the world" is naive. Take a PolySci class, the EU is federalizing.... China's political system is showing no signs of strain.... in our lifetimes, we won't just be 2, we'll be 3 and if we piss off europe... who's going to go shoulder to shoulder with us to keep up with China?

My fellow citizens, you ready to get stupid???

Don't even get me started on the nationalisim that Bush could easily warp after a few more 9/11's into an American cultural revolution....

edit: topic summary... thx infohawk

My Dad is a registered Republican and he sees it-basically- the same way as you. I'm in total agreement with what you're saying. Unfortunately, your intended audience won't see it that way.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out

Shut up dumbass, we have to put up with the likes of crimson and that other parrot guy. Let him have his say.

aww, cmon... am I really that off base?
If you're going to call out a group of people as ignorant, it would probably help your cause to spell amongst properly in the thread title.

You see, they start going after anything (spelling, for instance) but the actual issues you address. Just like Cheney and Bush!
Why not? Because the are blind?

LOL he wonders why not after he calls his intended audience assholes and stupid.

If I called you an asshole and stupid would you listen to what I have to say? Its not an effective way to convince people.

how do some of you assholes manage to breathe

The drool coming out of Bush's mouth last night shows that the thought required for him to speak was interfering with the thought required for him to breathe properly.

Sorry you've only had the grammar police and the troll patrol respond to you. Unfortunately, it's typical.

You are not off-base. You're absolutely correct. Ignorance is at the root of every Bush vote. Whether it's a failure to understand science, religion, or human behavior, conservatives are stubborn in their ignorance. Now if you have any suggestions on how to educate them...

Since when is "anyone who holds an opinion on the Presidential election that differs from mine is an asshole" an indication of open-mindedness?

There are definitely some reasons to vote against Bush, just as there are reasons not to vote for Kerry. It's a voter's personal take on the issues and how they weigh them against their own notions of values and beliefs that allows them to arrive at a different conclusion than you.

Just like not every single person buys the safest car on the market. Are these people "ignorant assholes" becasue their choice of car doesn't get the best gas mileage, have the highest crash ratings, have the lowest roll-over history, etc?

:*)

I know the voting base is so galvanized I don't have a chance, but nobody who can't identify the secretary of state deserves to vote.... nobody who is watching politics as a seasonal thing deserves to vote. I follow politics every day.... wth is wrong with you if you can follow a pro sports team, but not the leadership of your country...

How can you watch a debate and evaluate the canidates positions if you don't even know the issues

my girlfriend thinks social security is fine and that the money she has taken out of her pay check is put away.... needless to say, she's voting bush.... "let him finish what he started"

my roomate's girlfrined is the second coming of Gomer Pyle. She thinks everyone should help defend the country. Easy for you to say you fat wench.... will you even notice when they ship me over there to dig fiberoptic lines because we went to war in France to look for WMD's????? <<<< please note heavy scarcasam and I would never seriosuly suggest that anyone would want a war with france... the spectre of war with Iran or NK should scare you though....

That's right, he didn't call out all. Some might feel that way, guilt has a way of doing that. :D

I only have problems with the ones who only follow politics seasonly and can say the president was honestly mistaken when they dont know who Paul Oneil is or Colin Powel is or what either of them have to say

If you could rationalize voting for bush (or voting aganst kerry's liberal... yet insignifigant in the long term policies) while respecting the damage he is doing to our LONG TERM future in the global economy.... I'd pay the apropriate respect...

Jefferson, Jackson, Teddy Roosevelt and Truman made american foreign policy what it is today... do you really want "preemptive strike" to make it on the history books next to Roosevelt's "Big stick policy?" Is that what's best for our contry in the long term?

Funny, that's not what you said at all in your OP.

What do you say about the ones who DO know a lot of the issues (and possibly more than you) and still want to vote Bush? Are *those* people ignorant assholes, too?

Not at all. You illustrate the difference between a republican and a neocon. And between a well reasoned post and a troll post. Thanks.
