IGN Dreamcast Relaunched!

Heh, I've got it hooked up to the little TV in my kid's playroom. Looney Toon Space Race FTW!
 
The dreamcast was such a good system based on graphics.....To me it's hard to see why it failed....

Some pretty darn good games as well....

1) Lack of third party support (EA)
2) PS2 Hype
3) Sega was in bad financial shape...they pretty much couldn't even afford to advertise after launch

Eh...No. Dreamcast most likely failed due to having virtually no anti-copy protection. It was so easy to download and play games on the dreamcast, no modchip or anything special needed. So i don't think 'we failed the dreamcast', they kinda did that to themselves.

That said, time to dig out some DC games 😀
 
Sega pulled the plug on the system too early in its life. We all know Sega is alaways ahead of their time, & developers behind remember Saturn? but truth be told we did fail the system. Mines sits right next to the tV always ready.
 
Sega should allow independent developers to develop games for the DC and sega should license them and sell them for them..... lots of people still love their dreamcasts just most do so quietly and feel like no one else feels the same way they do. well i say DC LOVERS UNIT@#@!#!#

haha ya, that's part of the reason. I'm giulty of committing this as well. 😛.

ok, time to pull out DC and beat Shenmui already...
 
I still to this day I still thing dreamcast was far better than ps2 game wise and graphics wise when sega pulled the plug
 
Of course it was. Dreamcast owned the PS2. I used to have a link around here that proved that the Dreamcast was more powerful than the PS2.

Remember Power Stone? I am still waiting for the next one...
 
I loved Virtua Tennis, Soul Calibur and the fishing game that you used that reel attachment with, that game ruled. I still have my dreamcast in the garage somewhere.
