I?m building a new i7 system with a 920 and P6T that supports 775 heatsinks. I have a friend moving out of town and he is giving me the choice of either an older IFX14 or a cogage true spirit. The cogage stock fan seems to be pretty good as shown on Hardreviews. I currently have a few Yate Loon D12SM-12 fans to pair with the IFX, will these provide enough airflow? I?m using the upside down Lian Li V1000 case so I will probably need to mount the IFX vertically as it won?t get airflow from the bottom if I mount it in the optimal horizontal way. What do you guys think would be the best option? Thanks for any advice!

I've read almost all the reviews I can find and see the IFX, TRUE, and True Spirit pretty much dead heat. I just found that there is no chance the IFX will fit horizontally in my case, but might fit vertically, but that would mean that one side would have very little airflow. Do you think it will be hard to maybe cut off some of the flames with a miter saw to make it fit?

Can you install it 'vertically' like This?

Since Cocage is basically a rebranded Thermalright 120 and IFX-14 beats a Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme, I doubt the Cocage would keep up. But for a 4.0ghz, you should be OK.
