The answer is: WE DON'T KNOW. Please, people, state what you're going to use it for, what your other plans are, and stuff like that. Don't post threads like "Intel vs. AMD", because it's been done already, and the best <INSERT APPLICATION> processor is by no means the best all-round processor.

Don't start new threads for 'advice', only not to accept it.

If everyone here agrees, let's make this a sticky, and any user with questions can ask them here. These forums are meant for discussions of new processors, reviews and (test)results.

And, last but not least, use the search function.

Now, if I hurt anyone's feelings... Oops.. :p

(Sorry about this, it was really bothering me.)

EDIT: Thanks, noluckjim!

Well, that's okay, Bazikstano. If we can all help make this a sticky, people can be helped much sooner, and the forums can be used for what they're supposed to be used..

(Did that sentence make sense to you? Me neither :p)

Taking this a little to personal aren't we...I mean it's just a forum, and as such you are not obligated to read or answer any thread that you think is unjust. I see no reason to make a thread such as this a sticky...

I do agree with the search idea...too many threads of the same material.

It's posts like this one here: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=28&threadid=1743054&enterthread=y that makes me agree 100% this should be stickied..

Exactly. And the people that make these threads keep bumping the good threads into oblivion (they won't be on the 1st page anymore ;)).

The search function works p!ss poorly. Sometimes it finds what you are looking for, though. You can make this a sticky if you'd like, but you know there will be plenty of dolts that will continue to post those kind of threads anyway.

Just like when we had Zebo's A64 overclocking guide stickied, we still had numerous people posting threads asking how to overclock an A64.

The problem is that people don't read.

Exactly, the point is that people are not looking or reading...so to make this a sticky for the people who are not reading or looking, what's the point?

plus, so manye ppl are repeating the same stuff in every thread. if ur looking for info thats annyoing too, you have to crawl thru alot of common knowledge and bs. quality of questions and quality of answers...both can be kinda crappy in forums. a sticky cant change that.

No, but what we could do is like, a boycot, or something. I, personally, am sick and tired of seeing "what kindof proc should i get?????" and "i just need help with oc" eleventy times on. Every. Fuc[/i]king. Page. It just pisses me off.

See, what we gotta do is everytime someone asks a question like that, refer them to the sticky/relevant thread. Eventually, hopefully, they'll get the idea. I mean, we were all noobs once at this, its just how we handle our noobishness that sets us apart.

back in the day, there was always a good known overclocker:
p3 700 @ 933
cel 300 @ 450

I think people want to know if there is a known good overclocker like that. I have a feeling the answer is no because AMDs aren't multiplier or clock locked, so any proc can run at any settings?

this thread blows. How about; if you don't like the title of the thread, don't read it? Sure, some people might use the "search" more, but for the majority that might not be as computer literate as you, give 'em a break. dont be an ass.
