thanks guys. I only know what the best is... (well those items that are going into "my" system) .

i shouldnt even bother running riveratunea.. (cant recall exact name atm)... correct?

didnt know about the nic, looks like i can return it and get a cheap keyboard.

(i have a optical mouse on my older present computer (can't call it a rig, cause its that old) that has withstood diablo, AO and a few other games) so i am going to keep on using it... (its so old that the color has been rubbed off!!! ) :p

thanks again!!

:) No problem. BTW, the 4700 should come with a mouse and keyboard, even a mousepad.

Wait it out. If things go as normal, Dell will release a new coupon code(s) within the next few days.

Edit: 02-16 No coupon codes, not many discounts, but for some reason, I see some HOT deals. 8400's with X800 XT's going for a grand, some with 6800 GTO's going for <$800. Worth checking out.

More Dell Hell - exchanging 6800GTO for 6800

I shipped the plain 6800 back to Dell and waited for the credit. The credit eventually came - $0.01 ! - rather than the roughly $230 the Dell rep beforehand had said. I spoke to Dell again, and eventually got a supervisor - he said that there was no evidence - i.e., nothing in their system - that a full refund amount should have been credited to me, nor even who it should be credited to. I said that they could tell internally who had placed the order for the replacement so they can contact him to confirm (though I'd be relying on his telling the truth...) but he said that the best he could do was offer me a $150 credit, rather than the $230 previously promised.

However, it looks as if Dell may have accidentally dispatched me a replacement 6800 - if so, it's going on Ebay the moment I receive it.

Odd point - as with the previous time, the transaction to my credit card account didn't show up until three days after the "Trade date" - I check my cc transactions daily, and suddenly this morning the $0.01 credit shows up dated 20th.

Meanwhile, Dell are being sued in California on a class action suit - half the suit is for substituting inferiour parts, the other for deceptive lending practices - offering cheap finance then after the purchase saying that the buyer doesn;t qualify for it and charging them 30% APR.

I emailed the law firm this morning...
