Other than the connections, whats the difference between the "NU" and the "GTO" - clock speeds? Is the "NU" considered the "normal" version?

Does the "GTO" have the same speeds as a "GT"?

NU = vanilla, non-ultra, normal, whatever you call the plain 6800, 350core/600ddr
GT = 16 pipes, 350core, 1000mhz w/ddr3
GTO = GT OEM (dell only), 12 pipes, 350 core, 900mhz ddr3
Ultra = the big daddy, 400/1100

(if im wrong on anything please feel free to correct me)

IMHO - I would only be buying the later chipset designs - 4700, 4700c, 8400, etc.

Inventory seems to update at 50 minutes after the hour, so get there a couple of minutes early and keep clicking on "submit search." Sort by video cards, so the better ones come up first. Act quickly, good deals go fast.

Rauthoen, that's not a bad deal, but I have seen/bought better.

I went on last night when I saw this post, there were ten pages of computers listed, most under $600. I just figured it was always like that! I looked through them, couldn't decide, looked again this morning, the only thing left now is half a page of $1500 and up ones! Wow, they really do go fast! Since I am always up late, and have the advantage of living in California, there is usually no one else on when I am, I will have to browse again tonight! Thank you for the heads up, maybe I will find something to replace my current 5-yr old e-machines Windows ME having piece of junk that has to be rebooted at least once a day, it is messing up my network! Any suggestins on which one though, I could really use some help!

think someone is scripting to add every single thing to their carts (since it removes item from listing for next 15 mins) then sorting and only actualy buying the good deals

I haven't seen anything that would make me believe that.

I would like to say that when I say, "these things go fast," I mean sometimes in seconds.

There were hundreds of dimesions listed, was refreshing and suddenly there was 10, then none. Slowly built back up. This was at the hour mark after they had been putting in new listings.

Maybe website bugged, or something and just wouldn't show any listings for a minute. But all the dimensions were just gone. every one

If you need a basic system for surfing, email and no games then you might want the 3000. It's not very upgradable. No graphics slot, only one HD bay and two RAM slots. You can also check out the previous model 2400 but it may be used. You can find a decent 2400 or 3000 for $200-$250.

If you want something better then check out the 4700. It has four RAM slots, two HD bays and a PCI-Ex graphics slot. This model uses DDR2 which is still on the expensive side compared to DDR so I would select one with the RAM you need like 512MB. These systems have at least P4 2.8GHz CPU. You can also check the previous model, 4600. I've seen 4700's run $300+.

The 8400 is the top of their regular home Dimension line. I have seen one for $450 today. These systems normally have at least 512MB DDR2 RAM, ATI X300SE and 80GB SATA HD.

Best thing to do is look at the ones available at 45 minutes after the hour for the main drop. They do go fast and I know that some people are using bots. Check out this Thread over at FW. Lot's of people there asking opinions about different configs.
