I don't even know what to do with my Domain.

hehehe me neither

http://www.merpcorp.com/

I don't even know how to do that.

check your email, there's a page you can login to where you have an option to upload files. just create a very simple index.html file and upload to the public_html directory.

<html>
<head>
<title>merpcorp!</title>
</head>

<center>merpcorp is here</center>
</html>

that's the code for my index.html file.

er, any idea why mine won't work if there's a www before it, but works perfectly fine if i go straight to the domain name from http://
?

edit: hmm it seems that my roommate can't see it either with www in the address, but people elsewhere can see it fine...my network is wack

I am fustrated 🙁

Sleepmachine, i thought of the same thing. Yeah, you probally can, but I think it will be unfair to everyone else.

can i host more than one domain on this deal? i already signed up for one

If it's within the 2gb, etc limit then yeah, just add it to your account when you log in. No need to order a second account.

yeah that's what i was wondering. i had another domain from a long time ago that i wanted to add to my account. wasn't looking to sign up for a new account.

hmm i tried adding it through directadmin but it says i've reached my domain limit. guess only 1 can be hosted with this deal?

It's odd, I tried it on my roommate's computer, it works without the www, but once the www is there the page just doesn't appear. But then I sent it to friends a few miles down the road, and to some people in different states, and they can view it fine whether or not there is www or not before the domain name. Anyone know why...?

Ummm....why is this a hot deal?

$7.95 or $47.70 for the first year - depending on if you are in the first 50 or first 200....

But, then, up to the standard $95/year for every year AFTER that?

Ummm....that doesn't seem like such a great deal....

It takes time for the domain to propogate. At least, I hope that's the reason since I'm having the same problem. Also, I noticed that I am being billed for the domain even though the site initially said "free". The word "free" is stated on both the confirmation htm page and the notification email. I have sent an email to billing, and hopefully this will clear up.

Mine was $7.95 as well, followed by another $5.50 which was added a bit later. Here is the email I received from billing:

"As stated in the AnandTech post users taking advantage of this special offer would be charged the domain registration fee after the initial signup. Thank you for your business and let me know if there is anything else I can do for you."

Went back to the post and the $5.50 was indeed posted there. Guess I forgot about it when I saw the words "free" during sign up.

It's hot for a year. If you refer three people within that year the next year is free.

Got in for 8$

My brother has a 2.5GB / 120GB mo plan from some other place, we get 500kB/s from it! Guess I won't have to use his anymore 😉
