if you're going to phish, use a fast line, not a 56k

check out at this phishing site (and who should i report these to? reporting phishing in gmail doesnt seem like its enough)

http://194.150.236.171/~richard/index.php

i mean, you use a stupid URL that has a ~ and the word richard, then you host it with probably some idiot university campus line which is basically allocating 56k upload.

i wonder why some people actually fall for these?!?!? 😕

his site- "Copyright © 1999-2005 PayPal. All rights reserved."

n00b😛

a better idea is to fill it with a bunch of login/pw's that look real 😀

that way he gets his hopes up and wastes his time trying to use bogus info 😛

it works since he tried to be 1337 and used all real payapal links

so theres no other sites that i can report phishing activities?

Maybe you can report him to his service provider and get him shut down but he'll just pop up somewhere else: Here's the ARIN whois info on his IP address:
WHOIS

Is there anyway to trace that IP to a physical address? That would be funny.

Yes, there is. It's very easy assuming you are a law enforcement official. You take the information from the link I posted above and you request the billing information and any necessary log information from the service provider.

This narrows it down more:
scumbags ISP info

Just follow the links from my previous 2 posts. . .whois is a well known internet service. It tells you who owns a given block of IP addresses based on one that you input. I merely went to the ARIN website and entered the IP address of the scammer. From there it pointed me toward a company called ripe.net. We can see from the info that ripe owns the block of IP addresses between 194.0.0.0 and 194.255.255.255. This would make it a very large class A network. Ripe has a whois database of their own which further narrows down the search to networks within their range. Using their whois query, you can pinpoint the specific service provider. In this case it appears to be an ISP based in France called AZNET with IP address ranges 194.150.236.0 - 194.150.237.255. A smaller class B network of a size more common among smaller ISP's.

Edit: forgot to use the quote button. This was in reply to Syringer's question:

Is your name Richard?

also here's the email address to send spam abuse emails to this guy's internet provider:

For SPAM or ABUSE notification, please use
remarks: abuse@aznet.fr ONLY.
I am typing up an email to them now. IF the original poster of this thread would forward the original Phishing scam email to them, I'm sure it would help.

Another reason not to like French people 😛

I received it on gmail but too damn lazy to type. can i just fwd to that abuse.aznet.fr and not say anything?

i much rather somebody do a DDoS on him 😛

maybe we should have an official phisher thread so people receiving phishes can post the phisher's site and spam it. put so many fake combos so that they cant tell which one is real or fake. if they atempt 250 logons a day ebay or paypal probably will flag that IP
