permanently exempt from jury duty in our county.

w0w, i didn't know they did things like that
interesting

We didn't, either. We never even bothered to call the court to confirm it, or to confirm the actual reason for it. We're keeping the form, though, and if she ever gets another jury summons, we'll check on it.

Charged with something does not equal guilty. However, I feel if you are caught red-handed in the cookie jar, we should not waste time or taxpayer money with trials and long drawn out judicial proceedings.

innocent until proven guilty.

IF guilty i hope those soldiers get the max punishment by law. then turned over to the Phillipines for punishment.

80%-90% of all criminal charges go unopposed. Thus, 80%-90% of the time you are (a) guilty or (b) don't care enough to fight. I assume most criminal charges fall into category (a) and not (b), but yes, some do fit category (b). But still, most of the time, statistics say most who are charged are guilty. The public should presume guilt until innocence is proven (for our own safety we should avoid those who are likely to be criminals). The courts should presume innocence until guilt is proven.

I abstain from voting in your poll since neither option are acceptable to me. I will use the convenient View Results button which comes with all polls.
