If your video card has both analog and DVI outputs, does that mean you can use both?

Depends on the card.
I used to have a GF3 Ti200 with DVI & DSUB & S-VIDEO, but could only use one at once.
Tell us what card in particular that your inquiring about, and we`ll be able to help a bit easyier.

I'm using both mine right now. I have a Geforce 4 Ti4200(Gainward golden sample), and I have my LCD hooked into the DVI port, and my old 17" CRT into the analog. Dual monitor goodness. :)

Depends of the card/chip used... Many cards have only 1 ramdac and can display using only 1 connector at a time or show the same picture through both connectors. Cards with 2 ramdacs can display 2 different images through 2 separate connectors whether they are *vga+vga* or *vga+dvi* or *dvi+dvi*...

Let us know what card you have so we can help!

I was just curious in general. Next card will probably be a 9700Pro or R350.

I am pretty sure that any ATi/Matrox card with dual outputs should be able to support both at the same time. Also, almost all of NVIDIA's cards should be able to support dual outputs at this point as well. Just make sure you look at the card in particular before you make the purchase.

On a 9700PRO card, yes
On a R350, probably, but go with yes
As far a i know, all newer ATI cards can use both, if they have them.
And almost all nVidia ones as well.
