Marijuana Pepsi Sexy and Strong - And a Woman!
By Angela Carson
Jan 9, 2010

Marijuana Pepsi? She's sexy and strong and very real and she is not a joint that tastes like a popular soft drink. She's a real woman and she carries the name "Marijuana Pepsi." How would you like to go through life being named after weed and a soft drink?

That is exactly what has happened to Marijuana Pepsi Sawyer. Her mother actually gave her that name, but instead of hiding and cowering (or changing it) the woman has succeeded.

She was featured on the NBC Today show (Jennifer Cox has video linked here) and there is a sign featured outside her office that says "Please sit here if you are waiting for marijuana."

“I’ve grown into my name because I am a strong woman. I’ve had to be,” Marijuana Pepsi said, adding that she still wonders what made her mother pick that name.

More here from the Today show feature, including others that have been given very strange names by their parents.

I would have to.

That's not a name you can get very far on after killing your parents for being douche bags.

Think I'd keep it, it would be kind of funny. Though Marijuana is not TOO bad, you can just change it to Mary. I'm sure most of her friends probably just called her Mary anyway. I'm guessing Pepsi is her middle name and not part of the first.

But yeah, screwed up parents or what! LOL

Yeah, I'd change it to Sensimilla Red.

Sensimilla Pepper would be better.

Most importantly, it wouldn't make be hate my name. It would constantly remind me of my purpose in life, and give me direction.
What direction is that? Furthering my education until I achieved a PhD.

Dr Sensimilla Pepper.

More comically, the direct translation would be excellent.
Dr Seedless Pepper. Well, Dr Without Seeds Pepper is just a little long, Seedless works the same way.

:)

Yeah, I'd definitely have to change it to Marijuana Doritos. Who the fuck would mess up that combo?

Lots of foreign names seem inappropriate. I went to school with a guy named Michelle (French). I saw a male news anchor named Sasa (pronounced "Sasha").

Sandy and Leslie are good male Scottish names....

Michel is quite normal (spelled that way for a guy). Basically french for Mike. I've seen Sasha before when I went to a summer camp, but that's less common. Poor guy lol, whenever he said his name someone always had a comment like "that's a name?" even the councilors lol.

Saša is short for Aleksandar (Alexander), in Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian. It is in Russian too, but then it would be spelt 'Sasha', due to the lack of latin alphabet. If that makes sense.

I think in Russia it is never formal name, just as a nick name, but in ex-YU it can be your proper name.

I always thought a name like shithead or asshole would be fun. I wonder how they'd handle that in school? :^D
