If you would to buy 2x1GB which one?

2 GB (2 pcs 1GB) DDR (400) PC-3200 Patriot (PDC2G3200LLK)
# Dual Channel
# 2GB PC3200 Low Latency Memory Kit
# 100% Tested at 400MHZ
# Low Latency Setting (2-3-2-5) for System Performance
# Aluminum Heat Spreader to Reduce Thermal Build-Up
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant...duct_Code=140291&Category_Code=DDR-PDP

or

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Platinum System Memory
# Model OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K
# Type 184-Pin DDR SDRAM
# Speed DDR 400 (PC 3200)
# Timing 2-3-2-5
# Voltage 2.6V
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227210

This will be for an upcoming X2 machine (DFI Nforce3 939 board to be exact unless the ULI 1695 comes out before i want to buy)

But it must work with my config now also (see sig). I need at least 210Mhz at those timing.

Thanks,
Chris

BTW, there are many problems with the DFI Nforce 3 Ultra... Buy it with caution.

Also, those ram sticks probably use hte same chips, so just get the OCZ, because of better support.

Many people have been reporting DDR500 speeds at 3-3-3-8 timings. Zebo himself did a review of them a while back, and he got really nice speeds as well. Supposedly, they're just speed-binned Ballistix modules.

Plus...they're a little over $100/GB. Who's gonna argue with that price?

Edit - Also, look at this article. Speed matters a LOT more than timings. Crucial can get you DDR500, while those OCZ and PDP modules can get you DDR440 if you're lucky.

OCZ or Crucial. But Bona Fide is partially right. On AMD platforms, neither ram speed or timings matter much. You wont notice a difference in real world apps if you run ddr440 or ddr500, no matter what timings. OCZ just for the support, Although Crucial has great support also.

The reason i didn't look into corsiar at first is because i have heard alot of problem coming from them + DFI. Personaly i have perfect support and stabilty with my Corsiar i have now.

**Edit**
Opps it is Crucial that is in the link not Corsiar. Well i guess i can give them another shot. My first time ordering DDR400 from them (umm northwood days) i got 1 stick DOA and that was from www.crucial.com lol. But damn that is a good deal.

Hey Hacp,
Do you have more info on this?

And does anyone know when a ULI 1695 will come to retail in the USA?

Not those corsair. They suck at ocing now. The chips are changed. Bonified you need to stay on top of things.

Also, if you don't notice a 100-200MHZ clock speed difference in many applications then timings/FSB won't matter because thats around the % performance gain Tight timings with half decent FSB gives.

Eh? First, they're not Corsair. Second, it's Bona Fide. :p

AFAIK, they aren't speed-binned Ballistix any longer (sorry about that statement) but they still overclock pretty well.

Rev2 are OCZ, not corsair. Despite being TCCD5 instead of the earlier TCCD, the majority of people - including myself - are still getting great overclocks from these chips. I've gotten this memory at 282 x 10 1:1 with very good timings. If you get good air on them you can get 300 plus. Still great chips at a price of roughly $150.

Yeah right, mine are running DDR550 2.5-3-3-6 @2.75volts. That really sucks doesn't it.

2GB OCZ Value or Crucial Value for the budget.
2GB OCZ EL Platinum PC3200 for the mid-range.
2GB Crucial Ballistix (Tracer) DDR500 or 2GB OCZ's DDR500 kit.

I have the Patriot sticks and I was surprised how well they oced. I can get 260MHz@3-3-3-8 or 255MHz@2.5-3-3-8. OCZ has a better name but I don't know if those particular sticks oc as well.
