If you won the Lotto...say $20 million

🙂 So if you won the lotto with a big enough portion to be set for life. How would you quit your job? Call up your boss and say FU I'm quitin? Or classy- drive up in your new Bentley and treat everyone out to lunch and say bye? Come on people lets hear some funny ideas.

And if you won't quit yea yea save it, we don't want to hear why your job is so great that you'll keep it forever.

I would quietly resign and disappear. I would hope to be rich relatively anonymously and wouldn't want it common knowledge.

LOL!!!!!

I would prolly still work here... otherwise I would be bored out of my mind. Maybe treat everyone to lunch, everyday 🙂

I would have to keep working so as to avoid boredom and addiction.

I was thinking that too, but it'll be hard to work with all those cruises and Eurotrips i would have planned...

Here's how it would work. You would win the $20 million. You would then accept the advanced payout option in the form of a lump sum for approx. $13 million. You would then pay taxes of about 1/2 that amount. This would leave you with 6.5 million. You would then hand over 6 million to me and keep the last .5 million for yourself. Enjoy!! 🙂

A $20 million lottery leaves less than half a million per year to live on (assuming reasonable investements, lump sum payout chosen, and 60 years of life for the typical ATOT poster). That'll sound good for many people, but often lottery winners go bankrupt. Why? They buy multimillion dollar houses which they cannot afford the upkeep and the taxes. That couple hundred thousand a year doesn't cover much else. But those people have already gotten addicted to the high life before realizing they cannot keep it up. They spend themselves into bankruptcy. Look at Michael Jackson or Mike Tyson as examples.

I'd keep working, but maybe 1 day per week. It'll keep boredom at bay, bring in income, and keep me fresh so I can work when the money runs dry.

I'd keep my job. I'd have an insanely good time teaching physics with incredible demonstrations (but I *STILL* wouldn't use very much computer based lab equipment... I'm teaching them to understand physics, not to be lab technicians who don't understand the concepts)

Nonetheless, with the extra money, I'd hire someone to do the grudge work (correcting tests, typing up tests, etc.) That way, I'd be able to really enjoy my vacations more.

Nothing too fancy or extravagant for a house.. I'd probably build a new, but modest house... in the middle of 4 or 5 hundred acres. (I hate neighbors) But, that far isolated, I'd make sure I had broadband 🙂

loose the job and get some friends together and fly to some random island resort and party like a rock star.

then 2 chicks at the same time.

I wouldn't quit, I would just stop going, see how long I can go before they fired me. Oh and kids don't be trailer trash with your lotto winnings, invest half in bonds the other half split with mutual funds and stocks, the interest off the bonds should be enough to live off, and whatever you make from your funds and stocks you can use to travel/buy cars etc. Don't just let the 20 mill go down the drain in a few years.
