Ifs neatly stacked its 12'x12'x12'
Really, only a 12' cube? That doesen't sound right.

opps I meant two cubes one 12'x12'x12' and one 7'x7'x7'

As for the OP, Id say sure, just give me time to re-enforce a few walls, and build a shoot for you to dump them down.

I would build a museum around it. "Visitors can even roll their own stack of pennies! (for the owner, of course)"

The profits from that may cover the cost of losing your house.

depends on where you are, a typical crappy house in LA cost about 300K now.

I didn't read this thread, and I'm sure someone already mentioned this, but I'd just sell the house for a million. They get the house for free.

Actually all of those pennies would probably rip a hole through the floor costing me just as much in damages. Maybe more.

Cheers.

what about the damage to your home that 553,000 lbs of pennies did to your home?

even if you did 1,000 pounds in your bucket everyday, it'd take you around a year and a half to finish. sounds like a hassle to me.

Shoveling 1000lbs isnt hard, and certainly is not a full days work. Even if you got only 5lbs per shovel full, and averaged 5 scoops per minute, in 40 minutes you'd have hit the 1000lbs mark.

So how exactly will the pennies be dumped in? My answer would depend on if they were dropped from the sky onto the roof, poured through the front door, or whatever.

Yes. They have machines (I've seen them in super markets) that count and sort change.

So, the house+land is worth ~300k, 1m worth of pennies gets dumped. I buy the machine (10k I guess), cash in my million within a a few months, build a new house on the land (say, 80k). That means I'd still make close to 900 000 for 1-2 months worth of work.

how would you drop them on the house?

From what I know.. there is only one plane with a 250ton payload - antonov 225. They only made one of them though.
the next largest plane is Antonov 124 - 150t payload.. it would need two trips.

In comparison, C-5 galaxy is i think 120/130 (peace/war) tons.

Sure why not? Just take them to the free coin counting thing at my bank, then eventually put that 1 mil in the bank and live off that interest. Should be able to fix up the house or buy a new one in a timly matter.

I would do it as long as it was a private unloading process. I wouldn't want anyone to know that I had a million bucks laying on the floor of my house.

Heck yes, I would get some 10 gallons buckets and get them pennies to the coin counting machine at the market.

Even with a 10% cut from the machine, I think, I still get 900K for:

a nice new house, a new vehicle, a seadoo, a motobike, a nice entertainment system. Then I will put the rest in ING.

For those that are curious, this is 2500 kgs or about 5500 lbs of pennies.

100 million pennies weighs a lot more than 5500 lbs.

Whoops, i read it as 1 million pennies. Just multiply that by 100. I'd still take it ;)

550k lbs of pennies. Woah! :Q
How much space would that take up?
