Me, I must say I would ask someone to let me in and get the HUGE hotdog & drink for $1.50 at COSTCO.

WHAT A DEAL!

Where would you go? Can you beat my deal?

id goto the grocery store and buy those french fry things at .69 cents a pound, that will fill you up and 2 lbs of potatoes could feed a guy for 2 days

kinda off topic: but a week ago i guy was asking for work so he could feed his kids, well i didnt have any work for him so i went over and gave him a twenty and he started crying, i didnt know what to do or say, he said thank you for feeding my kids and myself for the week, (a whole week! on $20)

any way remeber everyone needs a little help sometimes so if you see a person in need and if you cant spare any money at least give them an encouraging word.

I work in the downtown east side of Vancouver (I step over needles to get to work 🙁). At the local McDonalds a guy asked for a quarter so he could get a muffin with his coffee, I gave him a $10 and told him he had to buy be lunch though 🙂. you think I would feel good about myself, but I felt like crap when I saw what $10 meant to him. He looked as if he could retire with it!

When I go home, I always leave the change from my skytrain ticket on one of the ticket dispensers, I also leave my morning ticket stub on the box where you are supposed to throw it away... maybe I am gullible and I fell for their sob story, but hopefully I helped some truly needie people.

100 % in total agreement with you !!

Giving is da bomb, youy get back soo much in return 🙂

As to the original question, I am not homeless because I choose not to be. Most people you see on the street wallowing in their own filth are there because theywant to be. I don't give a rats behind about them.

Ther are, admittedly, a few of them who have mental problems and families that suck who need help. I don't help them either because I don't know which is which and I refuse to be scammed by the losers.

A lot of the homeless have serious mental problems, some just hit terrible strings of bad luck, a little compassion wouldnt kill you.

My half brother lost everything he had to mental illness and drugs, was in the process of recovering and got hit by a car outside the halfway house. He spent months in the hospital addicted to morphine, and finally got out with his life and the clothes on his back. If it wasn't for a friend he had made at the shelter he would have no place to live. I pity those who believe that homeless people always have a choice about their lifestyle.

mcdonalds since they have that 99cent menu in orange county.

i dont care about soda, ill just ask for free water.

There are people who really are hungry cuz they have no money. There are people who run the same line, and they are full of sh!t. You can make over $100 a day begging if you have no shame. You wouldn't believe how good some of these guys are.

I think I've mentioned this before but apparently there are beggars out in Chicago who make over 30k a year begging. They live out in the suburbs and drive in every day to beg.
I guess they figure they can make a good living begging, why should they get a real job. 🙁
