What setups and prices would you use? :p

I know almost everyone on here has thought it out, so have I but it's been a year or two. I'm thinking of doing it on a small scale, build up a nice shiney game system and sell at a 10-20% markup.

you should get the setups people want and build it for them from reliable and cheap sites (newegg/monarch etc)...I've done it a few times...worked great...that was until my contact in the states got stupid and stopped shipping me newegg parts in Canada...

don't assume...just target people who know nothing about said sites...

Psh alot of people just like to have custom built computers. NOT branded like HP etc.

I could name about 30 people of the top of my head that have done that. Aka older people

EDIT: O and it helps if you know alot of older people:)

From my experience, there are 3 type of ppl. The people who don't mind spending the money want to have good support behind the PC, so they go to big name brands. The people who knows about computer and want to have custom computer think they can do better than you and they will build their own. And lastly those are most likely to buy from you because they think they can get a better deal from dealing with individuals, but unfortunately those are not the type of people who will give u your 10~20% markup.
