...to be married happily to a really hot girl(or guy) for say, 25 years, versus being married happily to a "not-so-gifted" girl(or guy) for, the rest of your life, which would you pick? And why? Are looks not important or do they play a major role for you?

*Changed a bit for Viper's good point*

Neither. 25 years isn't long enough.

Are looks not important or do they play a major role for you?

When you're in love with someone they are the most attractive person to you, bar none.

After about 1 year, they would both look the same, so I would pick the 25 years with the less hot girl for sure.

Very good point.

I'll add something else to this..

EDIT: Changed my mind. It was going to be Hot girl: married for long time but not too happily(IE, not too close to her; not too trustworthy); So-So Girl: long time but perfect marriage....but that is pretty much useless because you have to be stupid to chose to be married to someone unhappily. Eh?

You're not only marrying the looks, but you're marrying the personality. When those looks start ...um, "sagging" you'll have only the personality left. I'm more inclined to marry someone I get along with and who looks good instead of someone who I have issues with being around but who looks like a princess. After all, my wife is (will be) my very own princess.

He means since they would both look about the same after a short period of time, he would rather pick the LONGER period of time to be happily married, rather than a shorter period of time.

I pick marriage for life. A person has to look appealing to you, that doesn't mean they have to fit into what the media portrays as 'hot', but when his yardstick fails to rise when required, his hair has fallen out and his belly is shade in the summer there has to be some kind of substance. So for me personality is tops.

Well its true, looks fade, I would hope that my partner would feel the same, because unless I learn to walk on my hands to reverse gravity there is no way that my boobs will be where they are now when I am 50. ;)
