I'm at around 4 years in the Army so far... I'd rather be in the Air Force.

Coast Guard. Wanted to join desperately but had asthma when I was younger. Still strongly considering taking a PFT and enlisting.

I don't know about now days but it used to be the hardest branch to get in.

If you don't have asthma now don't tell them. They only demand medical records is you have current conditions (I didn't have any childhood issues anyway). At least that's what my recruiter told me, and if I remember right I knew someone at my last base who had childhood asthma and his recruiter told him the same thing (can't remember for sure though).

To answer OPs question:
I joined the Navy for their Aviation program, wound up working for the Army, alongside the Air Force (Also had some interaction with Marines during my very short stint in Naval Aviation).
My thoughts:
1. US Air Force if you want easy duty, first class accommodations & highly skilled training.
2. US Army if you have desire to fly or work on Rotorcraft. (Their Aviation program is second to none! However, of all the other ratings, I feel they are lacking for the most part.
3. US Navy if you are looking to get by with as little work as possible & don't mind sub-par training in your chosen field, not to mention the 6+ month sea dutys, would suck if you're married or attached.
4. US Marines if you want to be a real man, highly disciplined, well trained, & have structure in your life. Not for the lazy, faint of heart, or if you don't like authoritarianism. It will make a man of you, that's for sure!
Even if you are Infantry, you will be the best damned killer in the world.
It will be the hardest thing you have ever experienced, but it will stay with you for life! (SEMPER FI)
5. US Coast Guard: I have no first hand experience with USCG, so I can make no recs.

USAF vet so I already made my choice. If I were to do it again I might have chose the Navy because I'd love to be a refueler on a carrier or have some job that was on the flight deck. Because of my grades on the tests I had my choice of pretty much anything that didn't require a degree and I chose a job that required working with planes but not bound to any one of them and I loved it.

Yea, I was talking with some people around my building one time and one guy started complaining about how he joined the military hoping for more structure in his life, and we all looked at him dumbfounded. Like really you join the cushiest branch and what's probably the cushiest career field in that brach over say the marines and complain about lack of structure?

Army or Navy Band. As a musician I have several friends who do that. Hard work and a lot of pressure, but not horrendous.

I would join the Marines, I think. They definitely seem to be the most badass. Don't know if I would make it or not, but it would be cool to be able to say I was a Marine. Ideally though I never have to make that choice.
