If you were buying a house...

If you were buying a house and you were checking the inside and found 2, 30amp outlets, in one of the rooms, what would be the first thing that would pop into your head? (Nema L5-30R) ? What if you found it in what seemed like a bedroom?

😕

What's so funny about having a 30 amp outlet in a bedroom? I can't think of anything funny about it. The first thing I'd think of is "wow, I'm going to have a lot of 10/2 or 8/2 wire laying around after I remove them. I wonder what they had there... big air conditioner? big electric heater? Must have been an old one; I didn't think they made them like that. Hmmmm... maybe they had a lot of equipment in here, like 20 aquariums and needed an oversized circuit to handle the heaters..."

possibly a second laundry/kitchen? Maybe previous owners wanted to make it into an apartment or something?

LOL, that's pretty much verbatim what I was thinking. Maybe they had a server farm in there or something, and needed the power for the rack and for the a/c. Maybe they were delinquents and needed the power for their grow lights. Who knows....

We had a customer cvonvert a bedroom like that.

Four Krell FPB 600s
B&W Nautilus
Various support components

He even had a separate meter just for that room.
