Thank you for continuing to spread the good word, Wingznut. Let's hope everyone takes heed of the potential for (entirely needless) damage.Originally posted by: Wingznut PEZ

I've said over and over in ATOT about the importance of taking care of your eyes. And even still, many people seem to think the added 30 seconds of taking out their contacts at night is a waste of their valuable time.
I sincerely hope your story (Moose) prevents someone else from doing even more serious damage to their eyes.

That's how my GPC started out 3 weeks ago. It got worse, eye boogies so bad, my eye was stuck shut Friday morning.
Actually, they start growing into the iris (not the retina) in search of oxygen... At any rate, that's exactly what happened to me, when I was too damn lazy to clean my contacts every night. I figured, like many others here, that it was "ok to wear my contacts until they got uncomfortable." Then one day my eye doctor refuses to give me more contacts. And I'm glad he did, because I learned my lesson. Had those vessels grown much longer, I would've had perminent damage.Originally posted by: murphy55d
I actually just got myself a pair of glasses because I would constantly sleep in my contacts. My eyes were not able to breathe properly and the blood vessels were starting to creep towards my retina(i think). So now I can just wear my glasses when I'm around the house.

I still wear contacts... I just somehow manage to find the 30 seconds at night to put them away.
Heh, yep... Not unlike many young males, I too thought I was indestructible. 😉Originally posted by: apoppin
AHA, so you were young and irresponsible at one time (too). I wondered why you were "preaching" so much in that other thread. 😉
