Looks about right. If Obama had met though, ohhhh man end of the world shit would had happened right? I mean trump got so many bigly things from these meetings... he got to grandstand /w little fat man on the world stage and get.... ummm nothing? But a epeen war of parades now?
 
As I had mentioned in another thread about Trump, Trump and the GOP have cut off a large segment of the population and sequestered them from the rest of the world just as any ruthless dictatorship would in order to control the hearts and minds of their subjects.

Trump and the GOP Ministry of Propaganda have achieved their goal of convincing their followers that only news from their state controlled sources is valid. All other news from any other source than the State News Agency AKA Fox News is FAKE NEWS meant to subvert and contaminate the "real news" as delivered by the only authorized news source supported and officially approved by the Great Leader in the White House and his loyalist Republican legislators in the House and Senate.

I have long been amused by people who, when I tell them Nazi Germany happened because even the most technologically advanced nations suffer from self-hate, deny it with the claim that such a cataclysm could never happen here.

People have no idea of the magnitude of their hatred or who it is directed at or how far they will go to keep it out of conscious awareness so they will never really understand how hatred is projected and justified. In this way the slightest fault that would spark the desire for the total annihilation of a perceived enemy can be forgiven in a heartbeat if done by a perceived protector.

All that is needed for this madness to manifest is a sense of entitlement and America has that is spades.

Personally, I'd speculated that an attack by North Korea is part of Trump's plan. DPRK missiles would reach population areas like LA, San Francisco, Portland, or Seattle/Tacoma.

Then, there wouldn't be enough Democrats to win any more elections . . . And he could still blame the Democrats for the catastrophe. I'm sure Hannity, Jeanine Pirro and Trump could put their heads together and concoct some inferential argument that ridiculously violates all predicate logic . . .

The U.S. knew what was going on at the beginning of WW2 with the Jews, and was reluctant to do anything about it. In fact many people here at that time were actually in favor of the treatment and even the killing of them because they were so hated.

There is no group anywhere that some other group doesn't hate. And the reason, as I said, is that self hatred is universal, consciously intolerable, and therefore always projected on somebody else. This has been true from the beginning of language with divides and will continue until humanity awakens or goes extinct. This truth is the last thing humanity will face. We have all lived through a concentration camp and the memories are deeply repressed.

In a strange, Machiavellian sort of way, its quite impressive how Fox News and the right got into the position they are in today. Like a textbook example of the old "paradox of tolerance" they used the very elements of a western liberal democracy to undermine it.

I have someone that I deeply respect who is an avid Fox News viewer. In every other thing in my life, I would trust this person's word in a heart beat, but when it comes to anything touched by politics I can almost immediately assume that he is not only wrong, but he is *spectacularly* wrong (more than an assumption, I've made it a point to silently fact check various claims he has made and they are inevitably outright wrong or subtly misconstrued in a devious kind of way).

Its remarkable to see its effects in action, how it takes a mild bias in an otherwise open minded person and just hammers at it until there is nothing mild left about it.

No it isn't, it's actual history. I'll let you google it if you want, but anti-Semitism and outright hate was common, especially once the displaced Jewish starting seeking asylum in the U.S.

You stated that everybody knew and approved of what was happening in Nazi Germany! That just is not true! Not everybody approved or were in favor of killing them! Sure it is actual history, been there done that, but you cannot make a blanket statement like you made!
Well...of course the Nazi party in America approved but how big was the Nazi party in America? It was insignificant!
So YES it is actual history, but to claim that everybody approved is just not true! Yet some people did approve, but not everybody!!

He never claimed that "everybody approved" He said "many" and Antisemitism was extremely common in pretty much all of what we consider the western world at the time.
 
No it doesn't, I never said everybody. When I said "US" I meant mainly the current government of the time, which turned a blind eye towards the attrocities even though they were being informed. The "many" means the citizens of the US and quite a few people did not want the Jews here for racist reasons and just for the common reason that they didn't want outsiders in "their" country as many natives tend to think of immigrants.
