This petition was created by some guy named Ron DeVito, who is the head of one of the major groups leading the cause to rebuild the Twin Towers. This is his petition. Sign it if you would like to see them rebuilt. This is the same guy that's heading the Twin Towers Bicycle Tour in NYC in May.

Also it is not economical. Past a certain level the required support to keep the building standing becomes greater than the extra space it would provide.

I'd love to see them rebuilt, but I just don't think it's ever going to happen. :(

It might not be economical *now*, but it will be when the economy is soaring. Also, the Twin Towers were landmarks. How can you not restore landmarks?

Also, a lot of people are mistaken...Twin Towers weren't hit b/c they were tall, but b/c it was the center of America's financial prosperity and what they stood for. While there are plenty of people who will be afraid to work high up in the building, there are many more who would love to work at the top.

What I say is...if they don't want such tall office towers, rebuild the twin towers to the same size. 50 stories will be occupied by offices and the other 60 can be empty space, or keep them closed and available for when people want to move back in. I'm a New Yorker and I saw them all the time. It hurts a lot not to see them there.

After what happened, there are people who would still work up there??? Wow, that really surprises me!

That would be kinda silly. Who would be willing to invest all that money? They'd never make it back in rent!

The Pentagon was not that tall and it was a target. It is not the size of the building but what it represents.

Maybe I'm not understanding something correctly, but I thought the plane made a radical course correction in order to hit the Pentagon instead of the original target (not sure why)..

I cant remember the last time I didnt laugh at the American government. I think a lot of what they do is a joke. So to me, its not an issue of whether it would be silly or not.
