If you use hand lotion, do you feel a need to wash your hands before applying?

some of us live in cold and dry areas. My hands are always fine, but my knuckles get so cracked that I use a little unscented lotion on the knuckles and top of my hand so they don't bleed. Other than that, my hands themselves naturally keep themselves good enough to get no complaints. 😉 I got magic hands. 😛

Personally, I feel a need to wash my hands AFTER applying lotion... I can't stand that gross feeling of having lotion on my hands.
Hence I don't use lotion.
Hence I get to keep my man card

yeah... hate having that greasy shit on my hands

ugh, hand lotion is gross. My hands are naturally soft without it 🙂

Edit: I've lived in Southern AZ (dry warm region) and Southern Cali (moist warm region) and never had a problem with dry hands. Sometimes I wonder if lotion causes a net drying out effect, like maybe your skin produces less oil if you start using lotion, and thus you have to use lotion to keep your hands from drying out. It would make sense - if you live in a moist environment, your skin doesn't have to produce as much oil to stay moist. Wouldn't putting on lotion regularly just reproduce that moist environment such that your hands constantly need lotion? In other words, you're constantly moistening up your hands, so why would your hands need to produce moisture?

washing your hands first is better..the lotion then helps you keep the moisture in better.

Sorry you've got medical issues, one of my brothers has psorasis and it isn't fun.

Curel Ultra Healing is the best lotion I've found that really isn't greasy, and it doesn't smell girly. I would also rather impress women than men. If I'm not tough enough to hang out with some dudes because I take care of my body, well, I didn't want to hang out with that kind of person anyway.

On topic, I don't care about washing my hands unless they're actually dirty. If I haven't washed them in several hours, or I just handled some money or petted a dog, etc, I'll wash first.

I wash my hands before I apply the lotion. I'll often rinse my hands a few minutes after I apply it to get the greasy feeling off.

The only thing I use hand lotion for is rubbing on my cawk. I usually apply it with my right hand in an up and down rubbing motion. I just like to keep it delightfully smooth and silky. 😉😛

I usually have to wash my hands at least 5-10 times per day at work so if I didn't use lotion I'd have dry skin and cut myself on everything. I've tried not using it before, but the winter can be pretty shitty as far as dry skin goes. My hands are always clean though.
