If you use a Microsoft Explorer Optical Trackball, have a question for you

The one I am talking about is this one HERE

Does this trackball have a reatining ring for the ball? I just sold 2 of these on FS/FT and neither have a retaining ring for the ball, they never had. I also had a few people were I used to work that used these and they did not have retaining rings either. Basically if you turned the trackball upside down the ball would pretty much fall out. Just wanted to know how everyone else's trackballs are. The guy thinks I am trying to scam him for some mice.

Kensington had an old (no-optical) mouse that used a bigger ball. It didn't have a retaining ring either. I just mention that as not all trackballs have them. Some do though. I have a MS Trackball (again not optical) that does have a retaining ring, but, the ball is not on the top, it's on the side so it probably would fall out just using it.

Tell him to call MS and ask them to replace it if he thinks it's broken. They'll send him a new one again w/o a ring.

I have the one with the thumb ball, no retaining ring, but it the ball doesn't just pop out, it snaps in to the 3 contact points.
