Dude, you get a coolermaster tshit with those cases!!! And I guess the paint job is expensive, but agreed, what a waste of money :p I've been having a hard time justifying my p182, let alone I'd pay sevenfold for a case that has less to offer inside. 700$ buys you 1 hell of a watercooling or even liquid cooling setup, preassembled :p I wonder if ANY ppl at all buy those cases...

Just seeing those now, OP? We chuckled over them some time ago.

I seriously doubt that many are being bought. I think that most cases over $100. are too expensive when around $75. (including shipping) can get you a highly functional case.

This one will take the rest of the air outta your G-note:

Up to $300 makes sense to me. Some cases either include that much good stuff, or are just that high quality. Paint jobs, to me, don't merit $400+.

I love my case. Sure, the stock liquid cooling that came with it is sub-par, but it still made it worth it. The way I look at it, I have a pre-modded case with space for a 3x120mm radiator, plenty of places to run tubing, pre-drilled holes at the bottom, and TONS of room inside. If it came with top-of-the-line liquid cooling, I'd be willing to pay up to $500 for it.

Actually the $700.00, custom painted 632 is the all-aluminum version that normally retails for over $100. SVC.com has those on sale right now too. So I guess it's a $600. paint job...

It's a market that appeals to a "market-segment." Apparently, somebody wants to spend the money on these things, or the makers wouldn't make the effort, the resellers wouldn't sell them, or they wouldn't list them at those prices.

There are computer-sci grads who are averse to installing expansion cards or doing anything that OEMs would do to build or maintain a system. There must be some fat-cats out there with dual monitors and powerful machines who do day-trading by day and gaming after hours.

It's become an art-form. We do it here. Somebody else does it to perfection and tries to reap some extra ducats.

What I've discovered about modding is that once you've got everything working within a range of prior expectations, there's a tendency to let things slide for minor details. If you foul up a paint job but the result is reasonably exceptable for personal use, you don't strip all the panels and then start over.

So maybe these $1000 cases can be an incentive to attend to those details or re-do the paint job, but you have to then find a way to market your creation, and by then, you've grown fond of it.

i know this is an old thread..but i was looking for "632S" since i own this, and this came up.

LOL this is a freaking joke - they wanted $800+ for the 632S and some custom paint job?

The 632S case itself is "ok", rather unique....but a nightmare for anyone modding, also in general.

The 632S is so unbelievable TIGHT that

a) Only certain graphics cards fit since this case has a fixed HD cage which limits the room for the graphics card, eg AFAIK a 1900XT wouldnt fit.
My 8800 GTS *barely* fits, that is, i have to bend the PCIE power connector hard 90 degree.

b) The case is so incredible tight that its impossible to lower down a board into the case (dfi x38) holding it on the side. I had to grab my assembled board on the HS (!) to be able to lower it down since there was no room for board+fingers. Its impossible to remove the back-side of the case and assemble the board on that.

c) Sata connectors also have to be bent 90 degrees sharp, otherwise board+ connectors wont fit.

d) now the horror: My PSU blew and i had to remove the PSU. *Impossible* for two reasons: I had ultra-extreme 120 vertical which is literally a 1mm issue if you want to pull out the PSU from the case.
There is also a steel-bar right in front the PSU.

So..options i had: Either disassemble board and HS entirely (absolute pain in the ***) to replace PSU. Or:
*) cut away that metal bar (which i did, was not too hard) AS WELL as bending the upper steel "latch/notch" on the case (the "door guide"-thing) open to be able to remove the PSU from the case. Which i did. I really did NOT want to remove mobo + HS and everything just for the freaking PSU.

All in all NO MATTER what i do, everything in this case is so tight that everything always BARELY fit +/- 1-2 mm (literally).

The nice thing about the case is the fact that i only have one optical, so i added a second 120mm in front which looks very, very nice.

This is a simple mod i did with some spare 120mm which i mounted on two of the 5.25' bay metal plates...and it sits perfectly. Sicne i only have one optical i moved this at the first position - resulting in a huge "gap" in front, perfect for another 120mm.
