If You Think This Week Was Bad...

I'm a non-neocon Republican, who did not support the Iraq war but who would like to see GWB reelected.

Bush's performance in the past 18 months has tracked not the economy or social issues, but performance in Iraq. When Falluja happened, his ratings hit rock bottom. When Saddam was captured, they peaked.

This week was quite bad in Iraq. Two Americans got their heads sawed off in gruesome fashion.

But dare I say: you ain't seen nothing yet!

The Islamofascists know that their actions have effects in Western governments. They were able to throw the center-right government of Spain out of power with a couple of train bombs that killed a few hundred Spaniards during election week. They were replaced with pacifist socialists.

I have a very bad feeling that there will be an agitation, if you will, here in the U.S. just before the elections. I don't know what it will be, but I feel bad things will happen.

People say Americans are more likely to rally behind their leaders during times of terror. We'll see if that holds true for Bush.

What is true is that if things go South in Iraq, the American public will be pissed. I predict that right before elections, there will be a massive agitation by all Islamic groups in Iraq. You'll see things that week which will make the execution videos seem PG.

Hell, it could be you getting your head sawed off that week. How would you like to be part of the Islamic propaganda, without even leaving the US of A? There's enough Islamic terrorists here under the radar to make it happen. If nothing else, they can fly into Mexico and just run across the border. That always seems to work.

Well, maybe I'm just a pessimist, but that's what all the signs point to.

The Right-Center government of Spain was thrown out because they tried to pin the atack on domestic groups and denied Al Queda had anything to do with it. The Terrorists had nothing to do with the outcome, it was the Right-Center's attempt at deception.

I'm not sure why you(or anyone for that matter, though I'm biased) continue to support Bush as Terrorism is on the increase and Iraq is turning into a Hell-hole. Meanwhile Al Queda(remember them?) seems alive and well carrying out all kinds of actions globally.

Um...

Just to point out... the people of Spain were always overwhelming against their country's participation in Iraq. The train bombs did not make them cave in.

over half the russian/chechnya school hostage takers just a few weeks ago were arabic or something according to the news, coincidence?

and right before their chechnya election. double plane bombing, followed by train bombing, followed by school hostage take-over

our Department of Homeland Defense has already said al qaeuda will try to do something similiar here and you can bet the administration will celebrate it the same way they celebrated 9/11 at the RNC

That may be so, but the pre-election polls showed the center right government coasting for a win right before the bombs went off. After the bombs went off, the Spaniards got pissed that their nation's participation in the Iraq War (which the public's opposition to beforehand had been only lukewarm, a minor or non-issue at the poll), suddenly came front and center, and they voted out the government.

The Muslims hoped that this would be the result, so they planned the bombings. Now there are 1,000 fewer soldiers in Iraq.

They may try to do the same, or perhaps something bigger, in the U.S. right before elections. If nothing else, it will be their revenge against Bush.

Such as? I haven't seen them in the news anywhere other than Iraq.

Need to find a new News source.

The only thing the signs point to is the US of A under a re-elected GW collapsing under fiscal insolvency and bankruptcy even before the Boomers start retired in 2008.

The terrorists are like annoying flies, but useful for Chicken Littles to preach fear and anti-Islam bigotry.

I find it hard to fathom that someone could disagree with the unconstitutional war on Iraq and still vote for the man who got us into it. Bizarre. Why? Why? *bangs head against wall*
