It does seem truly astounding that Bush was unfamiliar with the word 'subliminal'. I don't know or care what his grades are or were. What I see, I see with my own eyes. He appears to be quite dim. It worries me that he could be in a position to make decisions.

JB:

Sorry for the multiple posts. The server decided to go down as I made my post.

DirkBelig:

I'm certain you are a genius. :( I don't recall Einstein walking around saying "I'm a genius, I'm a genius." Puhleeze. Methinks thou doth protest too much.

Who but a genius would post something that is entirely irrelevant to the debate about the Presidential candidates? And if you were a genius, what have you done to yourself in the interim?

Edit: And for one so prone to test score quoting, why, oh why would you miss this quote from the same article?

"Gore arrived at Harvard with an impressive 1355 SAT score, 625 verbal and 730 math, compared with Bush's 1206 total from 566 verbal and 640 math."

That was about 30 years ago. In the interim, Bush has drunk himself into near oblivion and has probably snorted too many lines of cocaine.

I'd like to test both of them today. If Bush scored over 1000, I'd be surprised.

Moonbeam, many people get tongue tied occassionally. Didn't Gore forget the word "mammogram" at one speech?

chess9: It's amazing how a defense is called an attack, but that's typical of you liberals, like when Bush said that he was disappointed by Gore's saying "no controlling legal authority" and Gore shrieking, "That's a personal attack and that stuff never fed a hungry wallabee."

I'm certain you are a genius...Methinks thou doth protest too much.

I'm certain you're being sarcastic. You posted:

You could not have gotten into St. Alban's, let alone pass a single class.

And I posted a response. That's the problem with you liberals. You name-call, smear and insult, but if anyone dare defend themselves, it's "Neener neener" time.

Who but a genius would post something that is entirely irrelevant to the debate about the Presidential candidates?

I've explained three times the meaning of this post. Maybe Red Dawn can explain it to you (after someone explains it to him.)

Edit: And for one so prone to test score quoting, why, oh why would you miss this quote from the same article?..."Gore arrived at Harvard with an impressive 1355 SAT score, 625 verbal and 730 math, compared with Bush's. 1206 total from 566 verbal and 640 math."

Because, for the FOURTH time, that's not the point of my post. Notice how Gore's score is called "impressive" when it's only about 11% more than Buch's. Is 1200 that average, is 1355 that impressive or is this another example of media spin thru adjectives. (i.e. People who support the killing of the unborn are PRO-choice while those who think that the unborn should be left alone are ANTI-abortion or "opposed to a woman's fundamental right to choose".)

That was about 30 years ago. In the interim, Bush has drunk himself into near oblivion and has probably snorted too many lines of cocaine.

THIS is exactly the crap I'm talking about. What PROOF do you have? NONE, Right? Hell, before you went into full Reality Distortion mode, my point about calling a shovel a shovel (can't say spade anymore) was made AND I posted my sources. What's your proof? You don't have any, do you? Like all of you LIEberals, you can't fight in the Arena of Ideas because the Truth is a stranger to you. All you can do is distract and insult.

{kicks back and waits for the next round of factless name-calling....yawns}

Another point about this load of poo...

That was about 30 years ago. In the interim, Bush has drunk himself into near oblivion and has probably snorted too many lines of cocaine.

Your beloved Clinton is alleged by his drug addict half-brother to "have a nose like a vacuum cleaner" and to have been seen in Arkansas so ripped that he couldn't stand. (In addition to being a rapist.) Why don't you include him?

Also, Bush QUIT DRINKING when he was 40, Clinton STILL can't keep his dick out of the help's mouth AND Gore can't stop lying about EVERYTHING. (Can't wait to see what he'll make up tonight.) Liberals LOVE to talk about how "alcoholism is a disease" and people can't help themselves (without government). That's why they hate Bush: He hasn't had to spend his time at AA crying about how Mommy didn't love him, he was a man and stopped doing dumb chit.

You, try that sometime...

The difference is probably in excess of 2 standard deviations, which is statistically very significant. Bush was a spoiled rotten rich kid with very average abilities. Gore was a spoiled rotten rich kid with very above average abilities. Thirty years ago. So what?

You posted the article as though it were some life jacket to save Bush from the troubled waters of stupidity. Why are you now bashing it?

Furthermore, the article actually tends to support a conclusion directly opposite from the conclusion you intended. Did you think none of this board's 30,000 members would read it? Or do you have such a low opinion of everyone else you were sure we were too dumb to figure it out?

One thing is certain, Dirk. The more you post, the less likely it is that anyone is going to believe you are Michigan's gift to mankind.

I'd suggest you shed your anarchist views and take a close look at yourself.

I would have gotten into that prep school... I would have been first in my class too. I would rather be main-stream and in touch with th real world, something Gore has never had...

<< ......he's just stating common knowledge and that still doesn't change the fact that Bush is a Boob and Dirks claim to genius has us all impressed..not. >>

Red Red Red, it saddens me to see your apparent inability to comprehend nearly everything that Dirk posts.

<< Dirk, you can call me a Liberal all you want. >>

Hmmmm, maybe he isn't calling you a "liberal" only that you act like one (or maybe he is, go figure). I'll use the first quote from you above as my example: Which part of Dirk's original post on this subject does Dirk infer that GWB is a "genius?" Let's examine his complete post (minus the quoted material) shall we, let's look for where Dirk makes his bold proclimation.

<< There's been this concerted campaign by the media and liberals to portray W. as being too stupid to be President. I'm curious as to what their basis for this was, other than their general hatred of Republicans. >>

Hmmm, nope, nothing there yet....moving on:

<< Anyhoo, I came across this history on the "smartest kid in the class": (Source: Washinton Post, March 19, 2000; "Gore's Grades Belie Image of Studiousness; His School Transcripts Are a Lot Like Bush's,") >>

Nothing there either.....hmmmm, maybe a hint of things to come?

<< So, Bush may not be all that and a bag of chips,.... >>

Strange, that doesn't sound like glowing praise for GWB, let's see the rest of that sentence:

<< ....BUT at least he's nowhere as stupid (academically speaking) as y'all (You Commies know who you are!) like to claim. >>

[sarcasm] Ohhhh, there it is, in black and white!!! Dirk proclaimes GWB a genius!!! [/sarcasm] Hmmmmm, well maybe not, I must have got a little excited there, must be some of that liberalitis that's going around here at Anand's forum. ;)

Sped(hey, I can get in on this lame "have fun with a nic" bandwagon you've started can't I?), while you may think(and I use that term loosely in this case) that you are not a liberal, you sure know how to act like one.

<< Whadda Fool. You don't seem to understand that what ever is said here is all considered BS and that those who take themselves to seriously are the biggest Bozo's of them all. >>

LOL Mr. Pot, I've got a friend you should meet.

<< But then again, with you claiming to be the smartest person in the outer Detroit area... >>

Sorry, but that honor belongs to me. :p

{yawn}

Did someone say something?

You two are so obsessed that it's gone beyond annoyance into flattery. Thanks. I'm pleased to know that you feel so threatened that you will talk past anything I say in your feeble attempt to shut me up. You think you're making ME look bad? Heh....if you only knew what was being said about you guys...:p

I've never expressed that I thought Bush was the smartest guy available and I only mentioned my scores in response to chess9's insult. Can you lame boomer leftists come up with anything substanative? Hell, I posted the link to my source (actually, I worked from a digest of it and then tracked down the whole thing when challenged), even though it resulted in being distorted into an attack. That's the difference between us: I deal in FACTS and you guys deal in INSULTS.

Chess9: You act like I didn't know that a bunch of people were going to read the story. WRONG!!! THAT'S WHY I POSTED THE LINK!!! SO THAT PEOPLE CAN INFORM THEMSELVES!!! What did you contribute? NOTHING. "Bush drank himself to death.", you say. Got a citation for that? Didn't think so. You have nothing but the delusion you can silence me by threatening me with ostracism. Being strong about ones beliefs means occasionally having to take the slings and arrows from those threatened by your unwillingness to yield to peer pressure. You don't get it because you are closed-minded AND dogmatic. You examine nothing, you know nothing and wrap yourselves in a comfy blanket of ignorance. Your in a particular panic because if Gore self-destructs tonight (and conversely, if Bush doesn't) then the election's OVER and your Utopian fantasies of sacrificing the country on your altar of guilt and slavery will be over forever. Deal with it. Try to become USEFUL instead of an useful idiot.

Red: Yer ponytail's too tight. Otherwise you wouldn't write this drivel:

<< I would rather be main-stream and in touch with th real world >>

So you think that Bush is? Buahahahaha, niether him nor Gore has a real clue.

At least you included Gore, but that's faint praise. Bush worked in the PRIVATE sector until 1994. (Isn't that one of his supposed faults, that he hasn't been in govt. forever?) Gore has had his nose in the government trough for TWENTY-FOUR YEARS!! Like Clinton, he has NEVER made a payroll or created a job that wasn't financed by the taxpayers.

PG, yes anyone can become tongue tied occassionally. Bush did, however, repetedly mangle that word. It was, I thought, rather clear that it was not a part of his vocabulary. Knowing or not knowing one word is not critical. I suggested that in combination with my overall impression, it seems worrysome.

Red: Let's take this in a constructive direction. Who would you have preferred to see on the ballot and why? I've stated that I didn't like ANYONE who was running this year, so if you barf up that nutjob McCain, I'll take you down a thousand. Seriously, make a case for SOMEONE.

As for me, I honestly can't think of anyone who would've made me go, "Hell yeah!!! Come on November 7th!!!!" Maybe, it's because I don't fixate on who will deliver me the most from others. Government should be strictly limited and out of sight.

My jihad isn't really about Gore (though he is the representation of the poison that has infected the country), it's about the defeat of egalitarian, statist socialism. Bleeding hearts fear that, because their entire existance has been built around being compassion fascists and the diminishment of government means less opportunity for them to run other people's lives.

That's the Big Issue in three short weeks: Are we going to be a free nation or a socialist one. Winner takes all, because it's gonna be a long time in the wilderness for the loser. America can't afford the statists winning. The prosperity we've enjoyed since the early 80s will end and I don't think many people are prepared for the end of the good times. We've grown to comfortable and fat and lazy to appreciate what's at stake and, to be honest, I'm not in the mood to arm up and head for Montana, so left not wreck things, mmmkay?

<< Both Candidates deserve all the insults hurled their way because they are representing two parties that do everything in their power to keep the American People from actually choosing who's best for running the country. >>

Me, I think it's the American People that are doing everything to not choose who's best for the country. Apathy runs rampant among people of all ages. :(

If the apathy weren't there to begin with, we'd have more credible choices. If we had more credible choise, we wouldn't be apathetic. Either way you cut it, we're apathetic and we have bad choices.

"But the Republican Party and the Right Wing False Prophets made sure [McCain] would lose"

The PEOPLE didn't vote for McCain. McCain's support came from troublemaking Democrats making mischief and those with vigorous hatred for morality. Christians are the only group these days who it's permitted to discriminate against. If you were to plug in Jew/black/immigrant/etc. into your statement, you'd be howled down righteously.

That said, McCain went into the backyard of Pat Robertson's stronghold and trashed Christians and then wondered why he got his ass kicked. If he wanted to gather Democratic voters, he should've run as a Democrat. Simple enough. He thought he was Perot. He was actually Custer.

McCain was a media creation and he got drunk on the attention. His pet issue, campaign finance reform, is beloved by the media because it would empower THEM to determine what gets covered. When 9 out of 10 journalists admit voting for Clinton in 1992 and with the undeniable liberal slant of the news, McCain would betray his party for another drink of media love. Screw him!

Your hatred of morality is sad. I have ABSOLUTELY NO USE for these overstuffed windbags (Falwell, Robertson) in the God Industry. I constantly scream at my mother for sending money that she doesn't have to these charlatains. She thinks that they're doing good work spreading the Word, but I just think that they're living a little too large to be satisfied. I got dragged to Mass a few weeks ago and was horrified at the overt Marxism that has absorbed to Church. You hate morality and, by association, the faithful. Get over yourself and realize that a strong moral foundation is what has made this nation strong for so long.

Just because you Boomers espouse the hippie "Peace Love Dope Man" lifestyle doesn't make the moral evil.

Dirk: I'm confused. When was religion a democratic thing. In the old USSR there was one person leading the masses. In today's religion there is only one person leading the masses. Are you so far out of your "superior" mind that you have to attack anything that isn't pro-christain? By the way, strong morals really haven't got a thing to do with today's booming economy. It was the onset of the technology we have today that did it. Just look at the top 10 companies leading the DOW and NASDAQ. Most of them are dealing something with computers or the internet.
