If you take Adderall XR, it just went generic

If you take Adderall XR and have been having to pay like I have, $180 for a 30 day supply there is good news. Just got back from the pharmacy and they told me it had gone generic. That really surprised me because it was not due for generic until 2018 , but it looks like the FDA did something right.

In 2001, Shire Pharmaceuticals introduced an extended-release preparation of these ingredients in a variety of dosages under the brand name "Adderall XR," on which Shire retains exclusive patent rights until the patent expires, expected in 2018.However, due to issues with Shire's inability to evergreen (extend the patent life by either obtaining a new FDA indication or application of other patent life) the patent for Adderall XR, the drug has become available in a generic form. In 2009, Barr Pharmaceuticals and Shire reached a settlement agreement permitting Shire to offer a generic form of the drug beginning April 1, 2009.The generic formulation dosage appears identical and the pricing is only reduced by approximately 25% between the brand and Barr generic.

Now the cost for the generic 30 day supply is $109 a bit more than 25% off.

Probably is.
I tried it for my condition, which it is actually designed for, and it did nothing.
Would have preferred it since adderall always gets me the 3rd degree from docs if I get lab work done.

Can't say since I'm not a doc.
For me I was sleeping 8-9 hours a night, but after I got to work I would start getting sleepy. Working with high voltage and the whole time in the back of my head I was wanting to just find a spot to sit down and go to sleep is a bad combination. Then when I did sit down I could just go to sleep. I did sleep studies thinking it was apnea or something but nope. After all the blood work and testing they finally determined that it was probably related to work I used to do. I went to work at 11pm and got home at 10am , and did that for about 5 years.

No matter how much I sleep my body seems to be stuck wanting to sleep during the day.

I realize you are all probably a bunch of /b/tards and there isn't much hope trying to correct you, but I find this thread to be quite offensive. Some of you are referring to Adderall as "government speed" and one of you made the comment that there is no difference between stupidity and ADD. I'd like you all to realize that although it is often abused, Adderall is a medication like any other. In the wrong hands, it can be harmful but for someone like me who suffers from a severe ADD, it is just a medication that gives me the ability to live a normal life and function in society. Also, ADD is not stupidity. It is a chemical imbalance in the cerebral cortex. I hope you found my post to be useful. Good day.
