If you stick a piece of paper under my windshield wipers, I have the right to loiter.

What's your take?

  • Hell yea, drop that paper where ever I please.

  • No, it's still loitering, keep it up and the fuzz will nab your ass.

You stuck your piece of garbage on my property. You had no right to do that in the first place. I'm sure I could find an asshat of a lawyer willing to sue you for vandalism or something of that nature.

Unfortunately, I most definitely believe that I have the right to grab that piece of paper and toss it to the ground.

Why do I do this? Because whatever parking lot I'm in, I want them to know your name. Know what you're advertising, the company you work for, etc. I want the street sweepers to see it as well. If they get pissed off, then I think there's a chance you might be stopped.

Until then, what you place on my turf, I displace to Mother Earth.
Quoted for posterity.

Careful out there. If a cop sees you standing around doing nothing he might write you a ticket for loitering and stick it under your wiper. Of course you'll just keep on loitering indefinitely once that happens ...

Agree. IMO the litterer was the one who put it there. it's no diff than if a piece of paper flew onto my car from the road and i flick it off.If I have paper put on car/mail box i put it on the ground.

If a piece of paper blows onto my car from the road, I put it inside the car until I can recycle it, or throw it out. It's no wonder Americans are such a bunch of lard asses if they aren't willing to go through the minimal effort to do anything :^S

This logic is so clusterfucked I dont even know where to start.

Regardless of how or who put the paper on your car, you are the one throwing it on the ground. You are littering out of principle. You assume somebody's 'wrong' makes your own wrong a right.

If the world where less full of lazy fucks it would be a much better place.

Wouldn't loitering and littering at the same time make it more likely to be caught?

You litter on your own property?

I don't like the people who put crap on cars, but I also won't litter. Throwing the ad on the ground doesn't get back at the guy who put it on your car. It just makes you a litterer, and litterers are assholes.

Don't be a jerk and litter.

When I was 15 or so, somebody paid me to go stick flyers on cars at the mall. It was money and getting a job at that age is hard. I got about 200 flyers on windshields before mall security kicked me out.

I'm wondering what the legality of this practice is.

They piss me off more than the local business that put flyers on my doorknob with a rubberband.
