You should try Snus. What is Snus? Smokeless tobacco made in Sweden through a process which leaves very, very small amounts of carcinogen. You can get it in a pouch which you leave between your upper lip and gum.

I basically did my research which showed that Snus > anything else out there in terms of health.

Basically all the research done found was that using Snus only doubles your chances of getting Pancreatic Cancer, which is like going from 4/1000 (nonusers) to 8/1000 (users).

In all other forms of cancers, the risks were unaltered.

Much better than smoking, that's for sure. It's also safer than American made dips since those are manufactured using a different process that creates high amounts of carcinogens.

It's also made to be spitless so you don't have that nasty spit.

The goal is to get your nicotine buzz without the health risks that goes with smoking or dipping.

I'm fine with people inhaling whatever they want. It's the exhaling that bothers me.

I definitely know what you mean. I know quite a few people who continue to smoke, just because the whole habit thing, besides the addiction. The nicotine cravings can be dealt with by snus, but the habit and enjoyment of that sweet sweet cancer-stick smoke seems to hold people back.
Camel is really trying to draw in smokers affected by smoking bans across the country, to buy their stab at snus: Camel Snus: It's not that bad as far as Americans are concerned, but those who have tried real Swedish snus say it can't compare and is too sweet.
I personally enjoy Triumph Snus. It's also kind of sweet, but its made by Swedish Match (largest Swedish snus maker) and imported by the company that owns the Newport and Kent cigarette brands.

But the great thing about snus is nobody tends to know you are using it. You don't need to spit at all - it's not a harsh chemically treated (nor is it fire cured like snuff, rather heat/steam pasteurized). Quite popular in pouch form (and the snus available in the US is all pouch portions), it's pretty discrete. I'd definitely push for smokers to switch to snus, just much better for your health if you still need that nicotine.

I still enjoy a black and mild every now and then... quite rare actually to enjoy one to myself. might puff a few times from a friend's at a party, or just share one between a few friends. But with having to run, I like to keep my lungs as clear as possible, as I don't need anything else holding me back. My body does that enough on its own, although everyone says I have a runners body. I may, but I mostly just think I have somewhat powerful legs. I need to extensively train with a coach to get better a running with speed, can't seem to get all that much faster during regular PT. ... damn I segue a lot. lol

For any study connecting pancreatic cancer and snus, there is one that dismisses any connection. For sure there is pretty much no connection between snus and mouth cancer, and Sweden actually has some of the lowest rates of mouth cancer yet the highest consumption of snus.
Come to think of it, I think I now know the reason there is even a possible connection between snus and pancreatic cancer. Nicotine is kind of a pro-tumor chemical, because it interferes with natural cell death (apoptosis), which creates a favorable environment for mutation and uncontrolled cell growth. Since snus doesn't require spitting, most people go that way and swallow the juice. Well, that means the internal organs are going to be exposed to nicotine. So, I think it may be a connection where snus use doesn't have any link to causing pancreatic (or even stomach) cancer, but rather might just create a favorable environment where other factors come into play. That might especially be true if the risk numbers of 4/1000 and 8/1000 are accurate.

That can be difficult at times: walking down the sidewalk behind someone smoking, eating at a park, waiting outside a restaurant for a table because there's no room to wait inside, in a restaurant with a poor ventilation system and/or poor separation between smoking and non-smoking sections. There are few things I hate more than smelling cigarette smoke instead of the $20 steak in front of me.

Big League Chew > all

I'm pretty sure it even cures the cancer that smokeless tobacco causes.*

Damn, I should stop at 7/11 on my way home from work and pick some of that up. Can't even remember the last time I had some of that... early 90s at the latest maybe. That shit was the bomb.

*Big League Chew does not cure cancer.

Considering the fact that smoking kills LONG after breeding age I'd say no.

Smoker's weak sperm and smoking women breed mentally challenged children.

That's why if I'm outside I just spit anyhow. Or I'll just drink some water alongside the spit. And I find the burn only lasts for so long... what I mean is, after awhile, the strength of whatever is causing the slight burn, subsides after you've had the snus in for a little while.

Got any more fables? The most damning study found a mere 4 point IQ difference between babies born to mothers who smoked regularly during pregnancy and mothers who did not, and that study is highly questionable as it did not take into account genetics, lifestyle and prenatal care.

And considering the billions of babies born to fathers who smoke, I'd say there is very little risk to potency in males.

It simply amazes me how hysteria grows over things like this.

I miss the days of packing a big fat copenhagen dip. I broke myself of that habit (wasn't too hard really) but using snus might have been easier. I would be curious if those who use smokeless tobacco would find it an easier way to break the habit than smokers since it's the same-type mechanism.
