get involved. if it were my close friend. i would at least go up and say, "hey, what's going on here?"
they might tell me to fvck off, but at least it should break it up, and make them realize they are out of control.

sad thing is if they are doing that in public, they are probably really vicious towards each other in private.

I'd just continue walking by, and say "hey guys, what are you up to?" then they usually stop to talk, or walk away, and that stops the fight.

Girlfriends hate beeing seen as a ranting b!tch, so they usually STFU.

Usually if you walk into their line of sight eventually they will notice you and stop and greet you. If they don't stop despite noticing your presence, I'd just walk away because if they won't stop for you then they probably would not like you butting in either.
