If you see a penny, do you pick it up?

I always seem to find change/bills when I am out walking, or just sitting in a classroom for that matter. Whenever I see a penny I stop to pick it up, and add it to a large jar o' change. I've kept tabs on how much I have found at college this year, almost $16.00 in change and a few singles. People think I am nuts for picking up a penny, wasting time to pick up a penny in their eyes. Am I wasting time? (spoken by an ATOT no less 😉 ) or am I just a capitalist of the highest sense?

Do you pick up pennies?

with 100 pennies in a dollar and 1,000,000,000 pennies in a million dollars, every one counts just the same.

I pick 'em up all the time.

I pick 'em up too, alot of people make fun of me, oh it's just a penny! yada yada, i have a jar of change and i think it's up to around $45....that's not from one year though...it's been 6....not bad for free change!

I only pick them up if they're heads up...otherwise, I just spit on them

I always pick up a penny. I can't count all the times I have been 1 cent short of exact change. And as far as I am conserned the fewer times the better.

Sure, why not a penny is still currency and I could always use more of that 🙂

I'll go fish for a quarter....err.. I mean bend down for a nickel, maybe a penny if I've fallen and can't get up...

hah.. im way to lazy to pick up even a quarter... heck.. i'd even have to debate whether or not to pick up a dollar

You cheap bastages! Those are my pennies you're picking up. Whenever I have any spare change I flick them at people or walls or otherthings for kicks. (by the way my aim rocks!)

I pick up any money I see.

For me, just kicking a penny or a nickel around like I see others do, is pretty disrespectful - money, no matter how small in measure, is still money.

Cheap eh? Well, I can get a 20 minutes phone call for only 99 cents. That means for every penny I pick up, I get 12.1212... seconds of phone time 😛

I do sometimes. But if there are people around, I don't. I would rather not have the hassle of someone coming back and saying "hey, that was mine."

So I spare the shame, and just leave it there.

Now if it was a dollar on the other hand... I would scoopt that up in a second.

If they're quarters and dimes, I pick them up and stash it in my locker. Unfortunately I don't find too many dimes and quarters laying around the ground. If I have a few dollars by end of the term, I consider it to be pretty good.
