If you order pizza for delivery, how do you do it?

How do you order your pizza (most often)?

  • Classic way - I call them

  • Order online

  • Use an app on my cell phone

  • I don't order pizza, and have no business answering this.

I thought it was silly when pizza places started taking orders online, but now that's all I use. I haven't called for pizza in quite some time. How 'bout yerself?

I haven't gotten delivery in forever. There was no such thing as online ordering last time I got delivery. I guess it's phone by default. You should probably have fax on your poll. I know some shops take fax, especially in business centric areas.

Anyone who doesn't order online doesn't reserve to be a member of AT... that is unless the shop doesn't accept online ordering or you're overly anal and must get it at a mom and pop shop.

I've never tried ordering online, never even really thought about doing it. Placing a call is fast and efficient.

You can only order online if you order from a national chain. I've never seen a mom & pop that does online.

No, it isn't.

I'm already logged in to papajohns, I click a button, my info is entered except CC which I retype and security info.

You have to actually TALK and visualize/think about what you want while you're talking to someone else. Much more effort than clicking a button with an image.

Plus the time it takes to verbally tell your CC/Address #, though that might not be so much of an issue if you're already in the system...

Oh, did i mention when people put you on fucking hold? Or when you talk with someone who wouldn't pass a vocal talking test and has an unbearable voice?

My favorite pizza place doesn't deliver and they don't have online ordering. I have to call and then go get it. It's worth it to get good pizza, I'm noting going to eat crap like Domino's just because it's slightly more convenient.

Well I usually pay cash, so giving a credit card number is not an issue and in the rare times I do use a credit card, they don't ask for the number beforehand. As for my address, most places already have it, if not it only takes a few seconds to give it.

I'm not against ordering online, I just do not see the need.

I don't order pizza because I have a car and it takes less time to order while I get in the car on the phone. But then I don't order pizza but I do go to pizza places for other stuff like wings.

Wait, so I failed this thread.

I use the local places. If I want delivery I need to call. One of the places doesn't deliver at all. Not only that, but at busy times you'll have a hell of a time even getting through on the phone. I end up walking there, ordering, walking home, hanging out, then walking back to get my pizza.

I'd say that is generally true, but there is a really good local chain (only have a handful of restaurants) here that, for one, has award-winning pizza, and two, has an online order system.

Problem is, using coupons tends to be problematic online - seems quite a few coupons don't work with their online system. So we tend to just call.

But I was really surprised when I saw they put up the online order system, considering they only added delivery as an option (and very limited at first, a shop about 2 miles away wouldn't deliver to our location) about 6 or so years ago. Only reason I remember that is because it was one of the first places ever that I applied for a job, as they were just starting it at that point.

Generally I'll do online to take advantage of coupons. Every now and then, dominos has coupons that make for pretty slick deals.

I prefer online to using the phone, since the website speaks English :)

(The Russian immigrant delivery guys here are nice people, but their understanding of English is a bit shaky.)

Online, I used to create a new email account each time to save %20 (new customer discount) on my order, but they caught on to everyone doing that after 2 years and did away with the deal. :(

Some local places here do online ordering, but it doesn't always work and it's easier to call.

I order online if I'm getting from a national chain though.

my local places are vastly superior to national chains... like comparing a Rolex to a Timex... even the worst local place near me is still better than the best chain.

so, while I'd prefer to order online, I pick up the phone and call because that's my only choice (or, more likely, I just pick up a slice to go since I walk past my favorite pizza shop on my way home from work every night)

I order online if they have it, but I don't do delivery. Hate paying extra and tipping just so I don't have to drive 3 minutes.
