Future, without a doubt, sci fi would be real then :D

Maybe...or maybe mankind would have destroyed the world as we know it...and you'd have Morlocks to contend with.

We really don't know much about the past beyond about 2,000 years ago, and even that's more filled with myths and half-truths than hard facts.

There's a lot about the past I'd like to know...and maybe change a few minor things...hopefully for the better.

I'd go just a few years into the future so all the jailbait will be legal.

But when you get there...you'll just be faced with NEW jailbait...and perhaps even hotter than the jailbait of today.

How about going back 5-10 years...and taking the winning lottery numbers, football and baseball scores with you?

Future, hell maybe in 10,000 years they will have figured out how to let me time travel more than once and then I can go back to the past at my leisure,

Past would be nice. You could pretty much be God.

But then, the future would be nice too...all those gadgets...

Which is better...keeping up with the Joneses or completely owning the Flintstones...?

Going into the past even 20 years would mean I'd be a cripple in 6 weeks. So... I guess not back.

If you were stuck and could not return then I would rather go to the past. That way no matter how smart you are you could still make a fortune. You could create McDonalds or Beanie Babies or something like that and get rich.

However if you got stuck in the future you would be the idiot that knows nothing. You would be the only one not knowing how to use the three sea shells or know how do drive the flying cars. You would just be the freak they lock up in the future zoo.

Id go back 3 years and just invest in booming stocks and sports. When we got to present time, Id be a multi millionaire and could live it up how Id want.

Quotable time quote. I like.

I would imagine that World War III would have destroyed humanity in the future, so I'm thinking past for a visit would be cool - Roman empire maybe?

I'd convert all my assets into something that has compounded interest, perhaps several locations in case one or two fails. Then go into the future to collect it all... or spend it on a can of anchovies.

Go to any point in the past, and the white man is in charge. Go to the future, and who knows? Definitely past.

Meh it worked in Hot Tub Time Machine.

I'd say the "Star Trek" type things, is a lot more realistic than the "Back To The Future" type of things. And "based" on Star Trek, they didn't DARE to try to mess up the past and in turn screwing up the future.

Just believe in the almighty Starfleet Prime Directive

Anyone who chooses future isn't realizing that they'd be totally lost in what to do and how to act, especially the ones who are mentioning years in the thousands. Hell bring back someone who lived in the 19th century, less than 200 years ago, and they'd be clueless.

I'd much rather live in the past and make better decisions as well as be rich from all the gambling/stock decisions I'd make.

In the past, you can die of all sorts of things they wouldn't know how to treat; like paper cuts.

In the future, you get to see what happened to things you were familiar with.

back into the past to knock some sense into myself and to deliver closing stock prices for the next several years
