Well, lets hear what your experience/history is. With no post history, we have no basis of understanding of what types of knowledge you may have.
Based on your location, are you with any of these?
AGV
Alpinestars
Dainese
Sidi
Spidi
Whats the quality control and long term durability on AGV helmets nowadays.
Used to be complaints about padding\trim pieces in the back coming loose after just looking at it weird. That and the visor mount system.
If you had to pick a set of leathers that would be your only set of leathers AND you would need to use them for 5 years what brand would you go with?
Who makes Icon's helmets nowadays?
What's the best midrange race suit nowadays?
Ignoring head shapes...Shoei or Arai? Why?
Favorite Action Cam and place to mount it?
Snell, DOT, or ECE and why?
A* branding is just so obnoxious on their stuff I place it next to Icon in "Ugh, I'm a walking d-bag billboard with this on". I like my SMX Plus Air boots, and the branding is pretty minimal for them and I can cover it up with my riding pants.
Spidi is great but pricier.
The thing is, under ~700 for a 1-piece or 2 piece is probably going to be of similar quality. It's hard to hit that price point from the quality players. The cost of materilas and labor is just too high in places like Europe/US so they outsource to cheaper (and often less skilled) countries like Chinia, Pakistan, Vietnam, etc.
How about Hein Gericke? I have a Honda (by HG) jacket that is going on 20 years old and it's as solid as the day I bought it... if not a bit, uh... smaller, which is why I need a new one.
Edit: Well, shit... guess they went bankrupt... twice... and only sell in Europe now. 🙁
I'm kind of looking at Aerostich one piece suits.
I agree. They make good quality leather but their styling department needs assistance. Dainese is better but their stuff doesn't fit me quite right.
I'm kind of looking at Aerostich one piece suits. A guy I work with has two of them and he loves them. They are extremely well made, offer great protection and they are easy to get on/off. Oh, and they're made in the United States.
They're expensive but totally worth it and as my friend told me, you ride a $20,000 Ducati and you're complaining about spending $1,200 on a riding suit? 😀
I also need new boots. My Sidi Air Vertigos are just about shot.
